New To March 2004 Board
Hello everyone,
I'm new to the March board. I always hang out on the CA board. Thought I'd jump over here and introduce myself. I recently joined the Century Club-I've now lost 102 lbs. I was just wondering if I could ask you a few questions since we all had surgery the same month? Have you felt hungry since your surgery? I haven't yet. Do you count calories or just mostly concentrate on getting your protein in? If you count calories, how much do you eat in 1 day? How much protein do you eat in 1 day roughly? How long have you participated on this board since your surgery in March? Thanks for your feedback.
Have a great weekend!!!

hi and welcome! glad you found the board! and congrats on the weight loss. i had surgery 3/9/04 and am down about 155 pounds. i mostly just keep track of my protein - and yes, i get hungry. it just doesn't take near as much to fill me up as it used to! i try to get in between 80-90 grams of protein a day. i've been on this board since before my surgery - it's been a life-saver. i honestly don't know what i'd have done without it. i go to some of the other boards, too. but, i find this one to be the most helpful because we've all had the surgery about the same time.

HI TERRI
I HAD MY SURGER 3-15. MY HUNGER HAS RETURNED, BUT I'VE LOST 125 LBS AND AM AT GOAL. I HAVE HAD TROUBLE STOPPING LOSING WEIGHT SO I EAT EVERY 2-3 HRS BUT ALMOST ALL PROTEIN. IT DOESNT TAKE MUCH TO FILL ME UP. I GET BETWEEN 60 AND 70 GRAMS A DAY, BUT IT DO KEEP A ROUGH TRACK OF MY CALORIES. I DON'T WANT TO OVERDUE THE EATING AND START GAINING WEIGHT BACK. I'M SO HAPPY WITH THIS SURGERY. WELCOME COME BACK SOON.

Welcome Terri,
Congratulations on your weight loss.
I do get hungry, but it's not like before surgery when I could have eaten someone's head when I got to the ravenous stage.
I don't keep careful track of calories, but keep it somewhere in the 1000 calorie range. I also try to make sure that I get in at least 75 grms of protein each day.
I joined this board before surgery and it was a God send. The people here are so supportive and kind. There's no squabbling like on the main board at times and people are very kind and tolerant when I go off on one of my rambling rants.
Hope you stick around and join in.

Hi Terri and welcome to the March board. I try in theory to watch calories, but I'm not very reliable at it. I do keep a close watch on protein and liquid intake to make sure that I get enough of both. I try to stay close to 1000 calories a day, but I frequently come in closer to 1100 or 1200.
I've lost 145 lbs over all and feel like my life has been returned to me. I joined the "Marchers" a few months ago and it has been a Godsend. The people on this board are very helpful and supportive and are just generally Nice Folks!! Since we all had our surgery at the same time, we all tend to share the same "issues" and the level of understanding is much higher as a result. Welcome once again and please feel free to add your input to the mix!!!
Mike
I joined the Marchers as soon as I got my surgery date, about the time Kymmer did.
I have lost 120 lbs and I am at goal as well.
I do not count anything. I pay attention to my protein.
Lately, I have been hungry. But I am having problems finding something that will satisfy it. Mainly because I do not have high sugar foods in my house. I have realized that I am leaning towards grazing again and I must be careful. I think if I could find something that would satify my hunger with one or 2 bites, I would not have this problem.
Wecome aboard. And congratulations on your journey.
Hi Terri,
Wow congrats on the weight loss!
I started on this board before surgery and its a family here! Welcome! Everyone has helped sooo much. Its wonderful to keep in touch with people who are going through the same motions at the same time.
I have lost 110 so far. I still have a ways to go and BOY do I get hungry. But I always was hungry since day one. Just my plight I guess. I eat about 1000 calories a day maybe up to 1200. I exercise everyday and always get the protein in first. I take a protein supplement every day and vitamins and such. I get in about 80 g protein a day I would say. It fluctuates a little. I count calories in and calories out. I use fitday dot com its the best to track your activity and caloric intake. I wish you all the best and hope to see you around!
