HEY LOOK! In vs Out!
I wanted to post this here on our marchers board as well since its very informative ...
Angry faces always grab attention No anger here just trying to get viewers tee hee.
Ok so I was reading up on exercise many already know this... but its always reasuring to read it again and for some who may not be aware:
There are 3,500 calories in 1 pound.
3,500 calories LESS in a week equals 1 pound lost
3,500 calories MORE in a week equals 1 pound gained
Its all calories in vs calories out. If you add up everything you do in a day...exercising, sleeping, cooking, farting, blinking, bathing... total the amount of calories burned in that whole day. (example 1000 calories burned)
Then total the calories you ate the whole day. (example 500 eaten)
You will have burned 500 more calories that day and if you do that everyday that week...
Then (500 x 7) you will have lost 1 pound in a week!
BUT...
if you ate 3,500 more calories than you burned (total) in a week then you will GAIN a pound in a week. say you ate 500 calories more than burned each day then 500 x 7 equals that 3,500 extra calories... (gained a pound).
Its as simple as that. SO it seems. there are unforseen things as well such as waterweight gain and water loss. Our menstrual cycles and such. Weird bizzare broken laws of nature. heh.
anyways... I have decided to purchase a hip hop "latest dance moves" video that teaches you dance steps... how fun will that be? I'll get my DVD then I can get home and do the dance cd and that will actaully be really fun and I can show off my moves once I get them down PAT. YEP PAT. (boy am I going to have to work at that!) I mean have you looked at those people that can dance like mad? They are crazy cut! 'sigh' to be that way one day (dream) I am sure it will be an awesome and fun workout! Get to steppin everyone! new us new life new future! God Bless!
P.S. Wanna know how to add up blinking, farting, sitting, sleeping, eating, and all the miscellaneous things we do during the day... then visit fitday dot com and go to the activities tab (once you register or log in) they have a list of everything that you can possibly do in a day!!! Very awesome tool! You will be able to perfectly tract your calories in versus calories out. Have fun! Happy friday everyone!!!

Hey Elizabeth...... You're totally right on about the calories in vs. calories out ratio. I hate counting calories with a passion which is probably why I'm here in the first place. I think that for me, the important thing is not so much the calorie count as keeping an honest record of what I'm putting in my big mouth!! There is usually a good reason why I stall and I tend to discover it when I keep track (oh yeah....I did have a couple of cookies, didn't I??!!).

Elizabeth,
I danced for three hours non-stop tonight. In high heeled boots no less. I went out with my sister's friends who are all about 10 years younger than I am. We ended up at a place that had a VERY young crowd. I think I was old enough to be the mother of almost everyone in the place. Well, what the hell. I danced and danced and danced. I figured I didn't know anyone there and was unlikely to ever run into anyone from that crowd again so I just let lose. Long after the twenty and thirty-somethings gave out, I kept going. I credit aerobics 4 or 5 times a week. My sister said, "What the hell are you, the Energizer Bunny?" According to FitDay, I burned about 950 calories.
The great thing about being the permanent designated driver is that I never wake up with a headache and don't have to worry about the calories from the booze.
