Stuck..anyone else???
I was stuck too for the most part but I did manage to lose 4 lbs a month during the holidays. I saw my anniversary date looming and realized I have been eating way too much junk, so in order to try to make my 1 year goal of 199, I have taken to cutting back SEVERELY to get it off. It is working....the scale has moved this week. I've lost about 7 lbs in the last couple of weeks.
My new plan is to have my Protidiet protein drink - no less than 2 packets (15 grams and 70 calories each) and usually 3 a day. During my work week, I scale it back severely. I haven't been allowing myself those "few" fat free chips or any fast food regardless of my healthier choices. The one exception was the other day I brought soup for work and I had a co-worker grab me a chicken caeser salad (light on dressing) instead. I generally am taking one of those microwave soup bowls of something like Portabello Mushroom Beef soup or Chicken & dumplings. I am making sure the meal is under 400 calories....preferrably under 300. I also took some walnuts with me and will have a small handful when I start to get hungry. Then with the exception of coffee w/low carb creamer and a few nibbles of sunflower seeds in the shell, that is my day. I found it pretty easy to keep up during the week like that. It's the weekends that are hardest for me.
I intend on keeping doing this as long as I don't feel like I'm going to jump out of my skin. I also found that by doing this for a very short time my pouch seemed to shrink back down a bit. I have been able to eat a lot less lately. Seems like there is more rebound with these little pouches than there was with our whole stomachs before. Like it is more resiliant or something.
I don't know if I'll make my 1 year goal of 199, but I'm going to try! One thing is for sure, I now know after the holidays that I can easily gain weight on what I should be LOSING weight on with my purported basal metabolic rate. This is where I have kicked it into high gear and am pushing the exercise more as well. Not that I ever thought this was a free ride, but it was certainly easier in the beginning. Now I get to do some serious work myself. Thankfully though it doesn't "hurt" as bad as it would have pre-surgery. At least I'm not getting nauseous when I eat too little. That was a huge problem for me then.

I'll copy and paste so you can get this in email:
You can do a Google search (PROTIDIET) and pull up several spots where they are sold. The one I get hits on most often is www.ishophere.biz. I get them from a physical therapist who carries them and some bariatric surgeons do carry them also. I pay around $6.50 a box but online they are about $10.00 a box - there are 7 in a box.
Hope that helps!

Dina,
Could you tell me where you get the Protidiet protein drinks? I've never heard of them before? And, how much do they cost?
Please email me at :[email protected] with your response.
Thanks,
Terri

I hate to say this but I'm glad I'm not alone. I could just scream...well actually I do.... too vulgar to print though at that dang scale, it is the devil. I agree the liquid diet is very hard to do, especially if you are not seeing results, which has been my problem. My doc says not to sweat it though, it will come off. I'm losing inches but I really would like to be at 200 at least by March 15 my anniversary date. I had really wanted to be at my goal of 170 but that ain't going to happen sadly to say. My biggest fear is getting depressed and doing the whole depression eating scene again. It's so hard to stay focused when nothing is happening and sooooo discouraging.
