Abdominoplasty approved....
...Surgery scheduled for Feb 8th at 9:00!!! I'll be so glad for this swingin' sack o'skin to be gone!!! Between the scoliosis and sciatica they're about to drive me crazy!!
I'm really nervous about this surgery, much more than the RNY...I've heard this is really painful!! I've been in pain for decades now, so I'm no whimp...but...
Please send good thoughts and prayers!!!

Va,
Congratulations!!!!!! Is someone going to post and let us know how you're doing? You were one of the first Marchers and I think you're the first TT. You trailblazer, you!
So I have a thousand questions here... Is insurance covering this and did you have a tough time getting approval? Did you visit and interview surgeons or was someone recommended?
You'll be in my thoughts and prayers and I'll be waiting to hear how you are.

Connie,
Thanks for the well wishes!! Either Lori or Whitney will update on me I'm sure.
My insurance is Tricare and I had been approved for the abdominoplasty back in October but that doctor didn't get his provider paperwork in time and that one was kicked out of the system, non-provider status. Insurance told me to go find another surgeon...and that took a while. So here I am 13 days and counting....
I only saw two doctors and was much more at ease with the second one. I have since gotten a letter from the first doctor letting me know that he's now a provider again...but I'm happier with the second one.

i had an abdominoplasty before I had wls (I lost alot a weight before). The main thing with these surgery is your going to feel like everything is so so tight you're going to explode. The only thing that saved me when I had this procedure done was a lazy boy chair or a reclining chair cause getting up from bed and from a chair hurts. Make sure you're surgeon gives you some real pain killers. The drains are a pain and they pull especially when you get up to go to the restroom and they are dangling there pined. For a week you'll feel like you are walking hunched over and it will be like that for a while, then all of a sudden your hunch will be gone. Just make sure you wear the girdle all the time! It gets to be a pain and hot but just push thru it. If you have any other questions feel free to ask me. I'm going to go in to revise my abdominoplasty in a couple months but it won't be a full one again hopefully.

Question are you at goal? Whats your height and weight. I am trying to decided if I am ready to see the doc. My height is 5'3 and I now weigh 164. My extra belly must weigh about 8 or 10 lbs. I don't know how much the plastic doc would want me to weigh?
