Hernia and Tummy Tuck
Hi all!
Iam so excited! Yesterday I had appointment with my surgeon for followup, and he informed me that I have an incisional hernia and he is going to write to my insurance company for approval for repair of that and also my tummy tuck at the same time. I jumped up and down. The nurses were laughing at me,they said they had never seen anyone happier! My best friend is now also having the surgery Feb 7th. She had appointment at the same doctor, right before mine. After that appointment I had my Lasik surgery on both eyes. This is the first time in the last 30 years I could see with out glasses . I am so very happy! One year out and my life has changed so much. I am truly a new woman thanks to this surgery! I drive now, I got my drivers license in July after 13 years of not driving. I wear a normal clothing size, 14, and now no glasses! I am sorry I am braggin so much, but I dont have any one to share my happiness with, my husband is so sick of listening to me, so I thought I would share this all with my fellow losers. Life is grand!
a great big congratulations! I am interested in the eye surgery... did your insurance pay for it or did you have to do it yourself? I have not checked with my insurance yet, but I don't think they will pay for it. I would love to be able to not have to wear my glasses. I had surgery on March 11 and I understand your happiness in being a new woman Doesn't it feel great? Continued success is my prayer for you!
Congratulations. How could you tell that you had a hernia?? I have some pain juste recently around the area of my incision. Especially when I bend over to pick something up ect. It had not bothered me until just recently. Just wondering. There is nothing sticking out or anything like that.
Thanks,
Nick
I know this sounds sick but congratulations on your hernia!!!! hahaha I was up in NHthis weekend taking my sister to the hospital for hernia surgery. She isn't a by-pass patient & had to have a enbilical cord hernia surgery. I was soooooo jealous!!!! hahaha I have to say I don't know if I'd go for the TT unless I do have another reason for surgery and do the TT along with it. My tummy doesn't have alot of sagging. Its my inner thighs and under arms that are saggy that I'd love to get done. AND something very strange that I've never seen before, MY KNEES are really sagy too. If I'm never able to get anything done to them then I will stil be very happy and just wear something long to the beach! I'm so looking forward to going to the beach this year no matter what!

Anne,
I have a hernia too-- a giant one. Insurance will pay for it.
I saw the plastic surgeon who quoted me $4,000 for the tummy tuck and the rest will be covered by insurance with the hernia surgery--but I don't have $4000. Did you get any prices?
The plastic surgeon said I had to get down to 140 first. I'm 144 now.
Thanks,
Robin
