How fast or slow are you losing?
Hello Fellow Marchers,
As my one year anv. approaches I keep getting more and more nervous. My weight loss has really slowed and I just joined the gym to try and jump start it again. Let me know how fast or slow all of you guys are doing. I am down 120 lbs and still have 40 to go. Fighting hard, but food is a big challenge for me. Any advice would help.
Rhen
I am at just about 100 pounds with my 10 month anniversary coming up on Saturday. I still have about 50 pounds to go. I try not to focus on how much others have lost or I would make myself crazy. I do know that at 100 pounds down, it's easy to be complacent and get comfortable with where I am now and I have to keep working at it and it will come off.
What I do know is that I am 100 pounds lighter than this time last year, and that I am much healthier and happier. Every day is a challenge to make the right choices and keep on track, but I can do it ...
Hugs, Mo
Hi Diana, we share the same surgery date as well! I just looked at your photos on your profile and WOW, what a difference! How tall are you??? I showed your pics to my husband (hope you don't mind) because I am at 176 right now and I don't think I look anywhere near as thin as you do! He said that I DO look like that! Anyway, congratulations on your remarkable success, you look fantastic! Maureen
Thanks... I know I've done well, but it's so hard to stop comparing myself to others. I even try to stay off the boards... but its truly addictive.. and I love to hear everyone elses success stories. Its just that I've been playing with the same 4 pounds for the last 2 months and its making me crazy.. I dont think I'll ever get to my goal. Its so close ... yet so far. It seems like it driven me back to my old bad habits of eating whatever to ease the pain. It getting bad because dumping doesn't even stop me. I'm going to try again and regroup. I know I have to get back to the basics.
Thanks again for you words .. it does mean a lot to know that someone I dont even know really cares.
Thnx again,
Ms P

Hi Rhen. You are doing SO WELL, don't despair! Although I certainly don't want to minimize what you're feeling and, believe, we've all been there. I'll share what seems to be working for me and hope that you find some nugget of inspiration in that: structure. Routine. First step: FOCUS ON THE RULES OF CONTINUED SUCCESSFUL WEIGHT LOSS. Very simply, the rules are ****at your protein 1st -- I take that a step further to add, make sure your protein choices are healthy, low fat choices; (2) whatever carbs you eat must comes from whole, non-processed foods, preferably vegetables and fruits -- any processed carbs you eat will spike your sugar, then plumet downward which will make you feel ravenously hungry for more carbs -- so stay away from them; (3) at LEAST 64 oz. of water a day; (4) EXERCISE, whatever works for you, at LEAST 3 times a week, preferably 5 times a week. Once you have focused on these rules, set up a ROUTINE that incorporates all of them on a daily basis. For me, Monday through Friday, i have a protein shake for breakfast; a frozen low-carb meal for lunch (Lean Cousine's are great); and a small amount of protein and veggies for dinner. That's it. I relax this a little bit on the weekends but not much. NO GRAZING ALLOWED, IT WILL KILL YOUR SUCCESS. And MOVE YOUR BODY, not so much for the exercise, but for the sheer joy of being able to! The day of surgery, I weighed 332; I now weight 176 and seem to be losing on average about 7 lbs. a month. I am 16 lbs. away from my personal goal of 160, and then I hope the TT will take care of the remaining 15 lbs. Above all, CELEBRATE your success! Yes, it has gotten very difficult to stay on track, but it's a choice we must make by making the right choices to meet our goals. Take care, sweetie. Maureen
It seems we are all different in this department. Sometimes I think age has something to do with it too. I am down 102 pounds and would like to lose another 5 to 8 pounds. It is very slow at this point in time. The weight loss, for the past few months has been slow and steady. Sometimes the scale doesn't move for a week, then it drops 2 lbs. I have to admit this last tiny bit of weight has been a challange. I wanted to lose it before my vacation next month. I started doing 50 crunches every night and I want to see how that affects everything.
You said food is a big challenge for you....perhaps review what you've been eating and sort of "tweak" it. Drinking really helps too. Sometimes when I think I'm hungry, I grab a cup of decaf tea, no milk, with splenda, and it helps.
Good luck and you're doing GREAT!
Joan
HI Again
Thanks for the compliment
I am 5'8" and as of this morning I weigh 186 and I would like to end up at 170 witch is about 20 lbs over what they say is ideal. I have alot of xtra skin stomach and boobs mainly and would like that removed. People compliment me all the time but I still don't see myself as the picture when the pic was taken I had my brother email it to me and I just sit and stare at it. I need to go look at your profile but afraid if I don't finish this post it will get rid of it
Talk with you later
Diana
