Clothes question
Hey guys. I havent posted in awhile but i have been reading alot. Glad everyone is doing good. I have lost 131lbs so far and lost like 55inches. I am wearing a size 20 now which is good compared to barely fitting a 26 before. My question is I know people who started around my weight and have lost close to what i have and they are in size 10 clothes. I know I am short but thats a big size difference. Does anyone know why this is. I just want to shop on the other side of the store. I started at 350 and now weight 219. I am 5'2. This has been bugging me for awhile. Thanks for any input.

Hi LaDonna... (I'm from April, but I like to read this board...)
WTG on your loss!
It's probably all about height... I also started out in a 26/28, I'm 5'4, and I'm now in 10's at 156 lbs. If I were taller, I would probably squeeze into a smaller size!
At 219-ish I was in mostly 20's, and a few select 16/18's...

LaDonna,
I am sure it is height related. I am between 5'2" and 5'3" (depending on who is doing the measuring), and at 180-ish I am in 16's. I have one pair of size 14 jeans that I can 'squeeze' into, but for the most part I can be confident that 16's are going to fit or be a bit on the loose side. I get frustrated sometimes, but I know I will get there eventually. My waist has always been 'undefined' and thicker so even if my hips and legs might be a smaller size, I've always had to go with a slightly larger size to accomodate my waist.
You are doing GREAT!!! I am hoping that by the time I go for my 10 month check up next week I will be at 100 pounds total lost (since I walked into his practice 1/29/04), and I still have another almost 50 pounds to go to my goal (30 pounds to his 'goal' for me). I just try to keep in mind that now is when it gets REALLY tough. I can coast and be comfortable where I am or I can really push and get to my goal.
Take care,
Mo
