I met a handsome stranger
I went to Safeway after group meeting tonight. I met a cute stranger who will forever be endeared to me. He told me that he liked the way I think and that he thought I was beautiful. Oh and he was a hottie too. Then I mentioned my hubby. He said that he would have asked me for my phone number but since I was married he said to tell my hubby what a lucky guy he is.... and he didn't even tell me his name!
I know my hubby is lucky (he does have me!
) but I think tonight just might have been my lucky night. Whatchall think?

Dear Gayle,
Feels good, no? While we are on the subject of strangers...let me tell you my story. My 16 year old daughter has been in the drama dept in high school since 9th grade. Over the years she has become close with her drama teacher, a very nice man. During the course of the shows and performances, I became the make up mom. He and I always exchanged pleasantries, talked about the theater, since I have done some acting and writing as well. I was a fatty and he was married, no big deal. Well, it's 2 years later, he's not married anymore and I'm not a fatty anymore. Amazing how people notice you after that. He and I have become very good friends, spend a lot of time together (with kids and without) and are quite fond of each other. Not sure where it's going to go, but I would like to get closer to him without scaring him to death.
Gayle, luck has nothing to do with the fact that you are a beautiful woman and this man found you attractive. It's a fact. And get ready for it to happen again and again. You're lucky to have a great husband...take it from me...it sucks being alone.
Fondly,
Joan
But Joan, you're not alone. You have at the very least a great friend, and that's where some of the best marriages (or just living together or whatever) start! Keep the faith, keep the friends, and most of all keep the personal pride, it will be your turn, if not now with him, later with someone else.... the times just gotta be right, that's all!
L&H and take care, Gayle
GAyle!
What a fabulous compliment!
I love that, your mystery guy was such a gentleman as well!
I only get hit on by guys WHO don't care that I am married and still give me their phone numbers and say charming stuff like " call me when you feel like NOT being married for a few hours???"
Which is FUNNY as heck I gotta tell ONE time!
when you hear it THREE TIMES I think I have a bad boy magnet and its on HIGH these days! UGH!!!!!
SO what did your Hubby say when you went home and told him???
psssttt...isn't not luck if you just a a plain old beautiful person, it is just life! Better get used to it sweetie!
