Well I had to visit the ER on wednesday. I worked out then had a small salad and started having terrible pain in my tummy. I called my surgeon and she told me to go to the ER and tell them to contact her when I go there. I checked in and the guy that took my info down told me he had wls surgery and lost 100 pounds so far... and I told him to contact my surgeon because she needs to know I am here as she told me to come here and have everything worked up. SO they take me back take my vitals and walk me back to the room... the guy says "dr so and so is your doctor?" I say yes and he said... oh she will be back in a few minutes. I said ok. Well she never showed up and I figured there was another emergency or she was in surgery or something. Anyway I get this quack Doc who looks at me and say... 10 months out... LAUGHS and says "I really dont think anything is wrong with you" and I mustve given him a look of death because he quickly changed his mind and decided to do x-rays... well long story short he put me on some meds and sent me home.. turns out the next day my surgeon calls and she tells me they never called her!!! wonderful. I am still having some pains but they are much better than they were. I go to see her next friday.. here instead of the x-rays they were supposed do an ultrasound. well anyways... not sure what it is but I can defintiely pin point the pain. It sometimes radiates to my side and back. Dont have my gallbladder so its not that... but its such a pin pointed pain. I can point to it and go "there" 'sniffle' (joking) I hope I just pulled something or maybe im just irritated or something minimal. welp just wanted to share anyone have this type of experience with pain where the pouch is? oh yeah... I can drink fine (am on clear liquids!) and seem to be having no problems with nausea or vomiting so im just praying its simple. Elizabeth M

I've had some pain every since I had my gallbladder out over 3 years ago that would last a few minutes. But on Dec. 29 th. we went out for supper and I ate some grilled salmon and chicken and 3 bites of broccoli and squash off my husbands plate. I started hurting and the pain would not stop. I went to the ER . They gave me demorol . I hurt from 6 p.m. on wed. till about 4 p.m. on thursday , even with the pain meds. They did x-rays and a cat scan. I got the bill this week , $10,500.00, only to say they didn't find anything !! I was in the hospital from wed. night till friday about 1 p.m. I told them from the time I walked in the door to call my surgeon and they never did. I still wonder what it is . Maybe , it's nothing I hope ! Judy

I feel much better today but once in awhile that sharp stabbing pain happens. Its strange. I am afraid that they will do the tests and not find anything. Actually that would be fine with me if there IS nothing wrong. I just hate to feel pain and not know whats causing it. My friend who had surgery also is feeling similar pain. I wonder if it is just that our pouches handle foods differently and it irritates things and we just dont recognize it since it isnt the normal "nausea" or "overstuffed feeling" or "golf ball in the chest" pain. Hopefully its just another way of our pouch saying "you know I just dont handle that type of food and its going to be uncomfortable for awhile." Im handling the clear liquids very well so fingers are crossed Elizabeth M

Hi Elizabeth! Just a word of caution: there are several ladies on another wls board I belong to who have developed internal hernias in their intestines -- they lovingly refer to it as "kinky bowels." It seems they've lost so much fat in their abdomens that there's not enough there to support their bowels, and when they get full, they get a kink in them -- eeeuuuwww! As for myself, my surgeon's treating me for an ulcer, so there's another possibility. Good luck! I'm praying that it's not serious. Hugs, -Marcie

It almost sounds like the same problems I have had this week I am also 10 months and down 125. Started having severe stomach pains everytime I ate. I contacted my local primary care pa and she started doing tests and everything x-ray ultrasound of gallbladder and ct of abdomen all turned out perfect. She than said she needs to contact my surgeon who lives 200 miles away. He told me to come over and he will see me 1st thing in morning they did more x-rays but nothing. My surgeon said since I live so far away he wants to do a laproscope which he did and he found several adhesions starting to cause blockage of my intestines. I would keep pursuing until you get results. The afternoon after sugery I was back eating solid foods with NOOOOOOOOO pain. Hope everything works out for you Diana

I hope thatthis message finds you doing fantastic with no more pain! It never fails to amaze me that when I'm having somekind of question or issue if I log into obesityhelp I'll find someone who is going thru something similar. I'm not having pain but what I am having is a bubble feeling to the left side of my belly button but higher than the button. It feels strange doesn't hurt almost feels like when I was pregnant many years ago like the baby is kicking! Ok so I know this sounds strange but why does it happen?? I figure it might be something to do with gas pockets. Any thoughts about this? Anyone else get this?
