Hey Fellow Marchers, Well I did it, I joined the gym and have been going now for about 1 week and loving it. I can feel my body working now, I was at Curves and it was good for me, but now I can feel the difference when I leave. I am a little depressed because my weight lose has almost all but stopped. I have been playing around with 3 lbs and my weight loss is only 116 lbs. down. I read another post and it looks like all you guys are well on your way. Some of you were 144 to 125 and some higher. My food choices have been really bad and I know I have not been getting enough protein in. I sometimes feel like I can not control the snacking and it is driving me crazy. Well, just wanted to know if anyone out there is experiencing the same thing. If you are you can give advice, I need it. I feel like I am on my way and trying to make better food choices. I'm just a little scared I still have 50 lbs to go. Rhen

When I can't control the snacking (all too often I'm afraid!) I try to keep high protien stuff around. Like beef jerky and fried pork skin thingys. I can snack and it's if not totally good for me it's not totally bad either, now I just need to join the gym. You made the bigger step in my book, I haven't even set foot in a Curves yet either! Ditto on the snacking. I sometimes think I'm munching all day. I've not lost any weight over the last month or two either. I can only suggest you keep around some high protein, low fat snacks like mozzarella cheese sticks or perhaps the Atkins Morning Start bars. My local Costco sells the "Apple Crisp" flavor and I have one or two every day. If you don't find them at Costco, try vitacost.com. Good luck and hang in there. I know that old habits die hard but we are all very fortunate to have this "tool" to help us now. But remember, that's all it is - a tool - and we do need to watch what we eat. Please don't be hard on yourself though, your "tool" is permanent and even if you put on a little bit, it won't be nearly as hard as it used to be to take it back off and more importantly to keep it off. Rhen, Since we are starting to snack more often and tend to eat a little more calories than we should, the gym is super important. Congrats on making that step. The hardest part about the gym is making that first step. I just started back at the gym again myself and hope to start seeing the scale move as its been 2 months without any loss really. Its hard! I have been struggling this week. I have been getting in LOTs of protein shakes and trying to go back to the basics but the basics are hard to accomplish! But I won't give up! I do have to say its getting a little easier so hopefully thats due to the gym. Hang in there! Elizabeth M
