Day 5 - How Are We Doing?

OK Guys, We're 5 days into the new year, how are you all doing? After two days of the flu, I made it back to the gym tonight. I've lost 3 pounds so far, but mostly due to the flu, I'm sure. A tough way to lose it, but I'll take it. My carb count has been outrageous due to living on crackers so tomorrow will be a day of carb withdrawel. Connie

I went back to the gym. I want to get back to my everyday normal schedule. Thanks goodness the holidays are over or I would be in big trouble. Wendy Ann

Oh Im there with you Wendy, I would be in big trouble too! Welp! So far yesterday I started back at the gym and did some intense weights!!! I am real sore today and thats great! I did ok with the meal plans. I could have done much better though. I had grits for breakfast and a salad and protein drink for lunch. Then I had 1/2 a wendy's chili and 2 thinly sliced turkey and 1/2 a baked potato (shoulda nixed the potato and stuck with strictly protein) Then I had my frosty icey protein shake. I did have a snack which was those darn pumpkin seeds. BUT I didnt have as much of them which was good. I had 32 ounces of water and should have had more... but the protein shake had lots of ice and water in it and I had about 32 more ounces there. I know not the same as straigh****er but I still have a time with water! I will try much harder today with the water intake! Today is cardio day at the gym and I will burn more calories so I am ready for the extra water! So far today I have had: Breakfast: Grits and Decaf Coffee & 2 slices of bacon. Should nix the grits though. Lunch: a small salad and protein drink Dinner: Protein shake and probably a little chili and hopefully nothing else! Im really using fitday.com again (I was slacking on journaling) and its already helping. I have lost 1 pounds so far this month! Hey better than nothing and its only the 6th so I am hoping this will be a good month for loosing since I am going to be going to the gym 5 days a week. Ok Im long winded today! Elizabeth M

Well......I seem to be back on track with the eating, but I came down wikth a nasty sinus infection/head cold. Because of this, I haven't gotten any exercise since Monday and I'm really getting "fidgitty"!! Mike

I feel pretty in control again now that the holidays are over.... yesterday I had: breakfast: a protein drink (Isopure chocolate powder) lunch: 1 string cheese and 2 slices of shaved turkey dinner: 1 cup of bean soup (with black pepper bacon in it) SO GOOD evening treat: iced latte (I make my own with sugar free hazelnut syrup and skim milk) I love it and it has become my favorite treat. I worked out to Richard Simmons uptown and downtown toning videos and walked on the treadmill for 2 miles. So far this morning (it is 11:00 am)I had a protein drink and now I am enjoying a caffeine free diet coke. I am not hungry yet, but will probably get there about 1:00 ish and will have cheese and meat. I will work out this afternoon to one of my aerobic videos and do the treamill, and today is sit up or crunch day....try for aobut 200-300. Janelle

Well Tuesday I did liquids all day and had chicken for dinner. BUT I left my protein mix at school! UGH WEDNESDAY was a snow day! no protein mix at home so I did the best I could with high protein mostly mushy foods! THRUSDAY IS a ANOTHER SNOW DAY!!! we haven't had a snow day in 3 years. Of course this year we have to have 2 of them after they took away our padding days at the end ofthe year so we have to make these UP! We played in the snow for two hours and had cheesey eggs and french toast for lunch! I am trying to do fit day again! I haven't lost any darn weight yet but I KNOW it will come off with the liquids and HIGH protein! I think I can, I think I can... Nic 291/169/145
