kidney stones ....
Well, I definitely have kidney stones (as the PCP said .. I'm a walking kidney stone). I have stones on both sides, but on the right side there is an 'obstructing' stone (yes .. that is the huge OUCHie!!!). The obstructing stone is not so large though so there is still the chance it will pass.
I spent 3 1/2 plus hours at the ER this afternoon/evening. My PCP had tried to get me in to a urologist today and when he couldn't get me an appointment he sent me to the ER for bloodwork and fluids. The ER did consult with a urologist and determined they could send me home. I have a follow up appointment with my PCP tomorrow a.m. and I have to call for an appointment with the urologist.
In the mean time, they gave me toridal (??) at the hospital in my IV, I'm getting ready to take a couple of lortab and go to bed. The pain is not so crippling as it was, and I'm able to keep fluids down which is more than I can say for yesterday.

Ewww...Mo!
Ouch!! My DH had a bout with kidney stones in '94 they did lithotripsy and did a fair job smashing them...all but one. He had to pass that one. He was one miserable fella for about 48 hours. After the "stone" (looked like a goat head sticker, you may have to be from Oklahoma/Texas to know what they are) passed he then realized how sore he was from the lithotripsy. It took about 2 weeks for him to feel like himself again.
They gave me toridol when I had the pneumonia after my WLS, but would only give me 3 days worth, it can be real hard on our tummies. After the 3 days I had to go in for shots every day.
Hope you feel better real quick!

Thanks you Va! I'm feeling a bit better, but still not 100%. The stone(s) are still with me. I have a follow up appt (from the ER) with the urologist on the 26th. They wanted to give me an appointment on May 15th. I about went through the phone to choke the scheduler .. and she 'found' me something sooner.
