I just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year! We have come sooo far and we deserve all the success we have seen so far! My new years resolution is to shop for next Christmas (starting now) and to cut the sugar from my diet and learn self control and get to goal! In other words I need to learn a whole new healthy way to eat and live and get it down pat so that I no longer have to struggle! Is anyone else making New years resolutions? And remember even if we dont exactly keep them (me every year) every little effort we make moves us forward a step to better self realization. (so glad there is a nerd smiley!) I also just wanted to tell you that you guys are soooo awesome! I dont know what I would do without your kind words and support you guys give! We have been together for more than 9 months now! You all are my wls family and I love you guys! 'sniffle' Cheers to all of us! Elizabeth M 334/227/?

Happy New Year to you, Elizabeth, and to everyone. Happy New Year seems like such an understatement, doesn't it? Hhhmmmmmm, last year at this time I was: at a weight of 352 lbs. I could barely walk. I was basically a shut-in by choice. I wore the same 2 pieces of clothing over and over again because it's all I had that fit me. I spent countless hours thinking back on my life trying to make sense of how I ended up that way. Fast forward, one year later: I'm down an incredible 166 lbs. since last New Year's eve (146 lbs. since surgery)! I am moving with ease and have tons of energy. I am working at a place I respect and love and where I am respected and valued. I've decided to resume my professional singing career and I bought a sequins and beaded gown today as incentive -- size 8/10!! Okay, so I have a ways to go -- if I can get myself down to 155 and then the TT will take care of another 10 lbs., that will put me at goal (if anyone is currently in a size 8/10, can you share what weight you are at? I don't know what it needs to be to get into that size!) Wow, huh? And mine is just one story...we all have them, each and every one of us. God bless you all and be well. Embrace your new life with all the passion you can muster. Best, Maureen

Fröhliche Weihnachten und einen Gesundes Neues Jahr! Merry Christmas and a Healthy New Year . . . and greetings from Germany! We've (hubby) been here two weeks, and I was worried about gaining weight-- Surprise! I've LOST one kilo (2.2 lbs!). I finally gave in to temptation and had a glass of the local bier -- tasted great but wasnnt worth the "after-burner" effect, IF you know what I mean. We're heading back to MA tomorrow, and I am looking forward to another year of losing weight, exercising, and improving my health. Thanks for all of the support and kind words, ya'll, and let's keep working towards meeting our personal goals. You guys are the best! Tschuss! Rita
