Thanks Louise. I also do count calories but did slack off for awhile with crazy schedules (I work nights and my day runs across 2 days. When I'm off, it's even more whacked out so it's hard to log). I need to get back to my PDA and start logging. Thanks for the reminder! Dina

Dina, I have been out of communication for about 2 weeks due to moving & a lot of crap that went along with this move. I was moving real slow lately as well. Since the move it has dropped 6 lbs, and I have now lost 130 lbs & am below the 220 for the first time since high school. Anyway since we are all 8 or 9 months out. this is the time it gets the hardest, as we seem to be able to eat more & that gets scary. My Doc say DON"T GET COMPLACENT with your life. go back to what you were doing in the beginning and you will continue to lose & lose the rest. If you stick to measuring & only eating 3 meals a day you will get away from the snacking. I no its easier said than done, I haven't been that great this week either. I also had a Birthday on Saturday & yes I actually ate Cake The only thing good about the last 2 weeks. I could talk for ever about the problems I have had. I have missed everybody & hope everyone is well. Happy Holidays to you & all. You will start losing again too! Don't stress so much. Marilyn, the Bearlady

A pound a week is as good as you probably ever did on a pre-surgery diet. I think a 10 lb loss is equivalent to a size for most of us, so you lost a half a size in a month. That adds up over time! My losses have longer and longer pauses, but then I am not being pristine about my eating and exercise. I think salt is getting me too. But all things told, I am enjoying life. If I can eat popcorn when I want to and not gain, why not enjoy it? For me, my holiday goal is to not gain. I will focus on exercise, diet and losing a bit more in January. This is a stressful time of year. For many of us it is full of fun and family--with too much to do and too little time to do it in. For others it is filled with relationship stresses, and financial anxiety, and unfulfilled expectations. All of this makes self discipline more difficult, especially when surrounded by yummy temptations. So, from my perspective, allow yourself some latitude, but still set realistic limits. Give yourself the gift of self-love and acceptance this year! You have earned it! Joy
