2 days till I go back in
Hi
On monday, I go back in to have 4 procedures done some are complications from WLS and some are not, no need to go into it because I have posted the whole story before. My ? to all of you is why oh why am I sooooooo scared. I wasn't a bit scared for my bypass but have had nothing but negative feelings about this upcoming surgery. I went out with my closest girlfriends last night, gave them all gifts to remember me by and made sure that I told each one how much they all mean to me and I wrote letters to my kids. I can't understand my fear but it is real, I am scared to death that I will not make it throught this.
Anyone have any suggestions to calm me the heck down!!!! I also want to thank each and every one of you for your support and love over the last year, you are definitely my extended family.
Thank's Renee
Renee, if I've learned anything about this remarkable group of people it's that our prayers for each other are answered. We will be praying for you that all goes well and you will be just fine. The bes advice I can give you is to channel your energy into positive thinking and imaging...see yourself post-surgery surrounded by your friends and family. Whenever I have to face something unpleasant, I always imagine myself just beyond the event, like the day after or even hours after (like having a root canal!)...just concentrate on something you're planning for yourself when you get home, try not concentrate on the just before or during...just think about the after. You'll be ok, sweetie. Take care. Maureen
Renee -
I am suspecting the reason you have more fears right now is because you had unforseen complications with the last surgery which is why you have to have another surgery done now. Although I think it would be normal to have those feelings, I don't think the feelings are a sign that something is going to go wrong this time.
Like Maureen said, try to focus on the day after and not on what is happening now. Take care of yourself and please please PLEASE update us when you are able to. I'll be watching for your post!
Dina
Dear Renee:
I am so sorry that you are so worried. I understande why you would be, after all you have complications from your previous surgery.
You have lots of good thoughts and prayers headed your way -- from the folks here, your friends and family.
Take heart.
I hope all goes very well and that you have a speedy and uneventful recovery.
