I have only lost 49 pounds. I thought I would have lost more then this by now. My Dr. is very happy with me. Just wondering if anybody is still doing protein shakes. I have gotten so lazy that I do them when I am thinking about it. Almost most of the time I forget.

Sharon, My doctor says two protein shakes a day ... for a supplemental 80 grams of protein .. FOREVER .. Not doing shakes is not an option for me. When I look at the success rate in his patients it's easy to see that it works. Good Luck, Mo

I go in spurts and forget to use them much of the time. I need to get on a regimine so I remember daily. I do tend to lose quicker when I have them. Dina

I'm new to this site, but I'm also 9 months out and down 100 lbs. I was told by my nutritionist that after a while, most of your protein should be taken in as solid foods. I still have the protein shake for when I don't get enough in and my bloodwork has been fine. Has anyone else heard this? Thank you, Joan

Welcome Joan! I have noticed that my greatest losses are during the times when I have consistently drank my protein shakes. I do them for breakfast. When I neglect them, I do not lose, even if I consume fewer calories. I know I don't get as good a nutrition either, so I am trying to keep doing them. I only do one a day, but the unjury protein in skim milk = 28 grams of protein. Joy

I have one shake (35g protein) for breakfast every day. I don't plan on changing that. If I eat anything else for breakfast, I get ravenous, and well before lunch time. Jen 266/160.5/145?
