Anyone having problems eating?
SOrry i have not been on in forever,I have been sick again. I have Parvoviris B19, and don't ask how i got that, my doctor has never dealt with this before. But lately I have not been able to eat much at all. I get sick feeling after a few bites. So right now i am back to chicken broth, just because it seems to be the only thing besides water that agrees with me. One of my friends that had WLS a few years back said there was a point where she couldn't eat much, and she was back to eating very little. My family doctor told me to eat more, cuz i lost 12 lbs in 5 days last week.
For awhile i was able to eat like 6 ounces at a meal, but am back to around 3 ounces again. And i am scared to eat, because i feel sick when i do. food looks and smells good, but it don't like me.
I thought maybe it was my meds doing this, because i am on lots of pain killers and that kind of stuff, because one of the effects of this parvoviris is it cause joint swelling and pain. There are some days i can hardly get out of bed. And some days i feel great. These past few days have been the days i feel bad.
I think you are on to something here. I have been having similar problems with the food issue for the last month or so. I want to hurl my food after almost every meal and things that went down well before don't any more. Also some days I can only eat very little and then everyonce and a while I can eat a cup of food. Strange. I wonder if it is a phase.

Tanya, I'm so sorry for your problems. Is this Parvoviris B19 caused by the surgery, or the vitamins (or lack of absorption from not taking enough vitamins)??? In another post, I mentioned I am having terrible pain, especially in my hip and am having an MRI next week. I'm going to look into this. Take good care of yourself and know that this too will pass. Make as healthy food choices as you can. Keep us posted. Maureen
The parvoviris b19 has nothing to do with the surgery. I have no clue how i got it either. LOL My doctor is puzzled. He is consulting someone at Mayo clinic.
I sat down and made a list of the food i can eat with no problems.
Chicken brooth
water
sugar free jello
sugar free popcicles
mashed potatoes (little bit)
raw veggies (chewwed very well)
All these i can eat in small bits like 2 ounces or so. Anything else i am praying to the tiddy bowl.
Tanya,
I had surgery 8 months ago and little to no problems with food, sweets or whatever. Lately, twice in the last week, I have thrown up twice after eating. I experience pain and within 5 minutes, I throw up the entire meal. I don't think it had to do with portions as I do get a pressure feelign when I am full and know when to stop. I think there is some change goign on and my body just won't let certain things in anymore- mainly hamburger or tuna. I am sorry to hear about your illness and bad days, I hope things get better for you soon. Take care and God bless!
