OH HAPPY DAY!!!
I can't believe I'm really posting this message ..... I AM UNDER 200 LBS! I have not been under 200 since I was 18 yrs. old! Weighed in today at 199 ... 199! That's A POUND UNDER what my surgeon told me to expect to get to AND STAY THERE...AND BE HAPPY ABOUT IT...well, I have a motto at home (my kids tell me they will put this on my tombstone) and it is...WATCH ME! When I first met my surgeon on November 25, 2003, I weighed in at 352. On surgery date, 3/8/94, I weighed in at 332. I am TODAY 199 (sorry, I just have to keep typing that number because I can't believe my eyes). So that means I've lost all together, 153 lbs, and 133 lbs. since surgery. This is a new chapter. I'm going to start really pushing the envelope, learning to live with food in a healthy way, pick up my workouts (am joining Curves on Monday) and just EVERY SINGLE DAY, celebrate, life, laughter, joy and love. And give thanks for all the wonders of this crazy world. Thanks so much everyone, for helping me along. Take care and God bless. Maureen
Reenie,
I'm so proud of you. See, I told you your doctor was full of crap. You can do anything you want. Wow! 153 pounds! That's tremendous and a testiment to what a determined woman you are.
OK, Reenie... I'm going to watch you. I'm going to watch you shrink even more. Keep up the great work.
Love,
Connie
Mauren:
What an accomplishment!! Hey, what are you eating these days. I would
like to know what one of your days consist of. Please let me know. I
have lost 120 now, but would like to lose more for sure. I am not under
that 200 lbs mark yet & sure would like to see it too! Hang in there
you will see smaller numbers than that. BE PREPARED FOR LOTS MORE

Thanks, Marilyn. Actually, my routine is pretty straight-forward but seems to be beating those nasty plateaus. What I am doing is: Monday through Friday, I am very strict with my regimen: a protein shake for breakfast, either a small salad (with 2 oz. of protein) or a low-carb frozen meal (WW are the best in terms of calories and other stats) for lunch; for dinner, I have a very small amount of protein and vegetable, taken from whatever my family is having. That's it -- plus I get my water in and do my exercise (not enough of that but am joining Curves this week). On Saturday and Sunday, I relax a little bit with the food -- if I feel like having a cookie, I have a cookie...I let myself enjoy small amounts of whatever I feel like having -- BUT I do the exercise and try to keep up with the water. Hope this helps! I don't advocate anything for anyone...but this is what seems to be working best for me right now. Take care! Maureen
WAY TO GO MAUREEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of you and how happy I am for you!! It seems like such a long journey from the day we met dragging our IV trees around the hospital halls. When you look at it though, it's only been 8 months!!! That's nothing when you compare it to how long we have been fighting this fight. You have been a rock for me and an inspiration to everyone at the support groups and I'm sure to the good people on this board!! I hope to join you at the "Below 200" mark eventually, but in the meantime, I'll look to your success to help me get over the hurdles!! You're the best!
Mike
Congratulations! I can certainly share and celebrate your feelings. I've found this weekend that I've joined the Century Club (have been there for a while from my alltime high but now I'm there from my weigh-in on the morning of surgery). I am 10 lbs. lighter than the surgeon guaranteed. I got nervous that the progress would stop but...it hasn't. I think it will be very possible to get to a weight that is somewhat close to ideal and certainly lower than I would have expected. I, too, feel inspired to keep on using this new second chance at life we've earned.
