Okay, I have been at the same weight 169/170lbs for more than a month, I started out at 250lbs and my surgeon says that I should be around 135-140lbs. I have been doing 2 hours of cardio (yes two hours) 5x a week for the past month. Here's an example of what my daily eating log looks like: Morning: Coffee Afternoon: Lean Cusine cutting carbs meal. Dinner: Lean Cusine cutting carbs meal. maybe a small salad with fat free dressing. Snack: fresh fruit. All my labs that my surgeon has gotten back seem normal. Just to let you know I am on BCP (birth control pills) I do feel more toned than before but Why is this weight just sitting there?

How many calories is that??? total???? I have found out the hard way that if I don't get around 800 to 1100 calories a day I won't drop a pound. Also, my trainer says more than 1 hour & 15 minutes of cardio and the body starts eating it's own muscles rather than dip into your fat reserves. Muscles are a ready source of energy, where fat has to be converted... Just a thought... Va

It comes out to be about 1000 calories a day. I forgot to add I do have a protein drink sometimes... so 1000-1200 calories a day.

I think Va had some good points there about the body eating the muscle after awhile. I addition, I think it could just be you were due for a stall. Everyone has one, so it might just be your body doing it regardless of what you want. One thing I would maybe try if I were you is mixing it up. If you are eating the same type of thing every day, you might try turning the tables and see if it helps. If you are doing low-carb, try doing low-fat with higher carb and vice versa. You might try taking what Va said and do an experiment for a week. It's easier said than done, but if you try it, don't give up until you are done for a week. I know some people find it works, but I'm afraid myself. Try eating more calories per day. Have another meal at least and then see if it doesn't help. If you gain, see if you lose it back and maybe more when you go back to what you had been doing. Maybe mixing it up a bit will get your body to think that it's having a feast mode and will relax enough for you to trigger the loss again... Dina

YOu have done great!! You need to talk to a trainer and ask if you are doing the right kind of exercising. You probably are building muscle instead of losing fat at this point. Are you drinking at least 64 oz. of water a day. if not start drinking lots of water, it helps. I have been there & thought I was drinking enough water, but wasn't. Once i started uping the water, the weight started dropping again. Let us no what happens. Marilyn, the Bearlady

Well i called by surgeon yesterday to complain about my stalled weight loss and see what was going on. He called me back this morning and talked to me for a little while. He came up with two factors that are probably what is stalling my weight loss. I'm not drink enough water he wants me up to 120 oz. a day. Second, the birth control pills that I was just switched on to... He thinks that is the major culprit.

Hi, Hate to say this but I think you are exercising toooo much. Bet you never thought you would hear that! I talked to my instructor at Curves and see said 5 days doesnt hurt but 3 days should be hard work outs and 2 should be at a lesser pace. Also the water is very important and how much sodium is in the Lean C. meals, Well good luck I just came off a 1 1/2 plateau by 1 lb and Wow its getting hard. Good Luck Rhen

I know you called your doctor, but I think he's not completely right. I think between all of the exercise you are doing and what you are eating, your body is NOT getting enough calories and is in starvation mode. When your body goes into starvation mode, it holds onto every single calorie and bit of fat it can. This can stall out a weight loss. Try adding more food and/or cutting down on the exercise and see what happens.
