Melissa,
Congratulations. However, you need to be sure to let your OB know of your special situation. There is a message board here on OH about pregnancy after WLS. I suggest you visit that and check with them.. I'm sure they have answers to your questions. I don't believe that this means the end of your weight loss, but it will slow it down for a while.
Good Luck
Whitney
Congrats Melissa -
I think you are far from being done losing if you have more to lose. I always lost during both my pregnancies because the baby takes up a lot of calories.
However, you need a lot of doctor care and input during this time. Even if you are "guided" towards a midwife (which I loved during mine), I would make sure that you work with your OB and Surgeon. Our nutritional deficiencys can be significant due to the surgery and it is HIGHLY recommended to avoid pregnancy for the first two years following surgery due to this. You need to make sure that you do everything possible to keep yourself and that lil bundle of joy happy and healthy as you both grow on this adventure.
Have a wonderful journey! I personally LOVED being pregnant!

I would encourage you to request blood tests to monitor your protein, calcium, and b12 now, midway, and postnatal. This is for you and your child. If you start having any abdominal pain or eating difficulties, keep reminding your OB about your WLS. The main danger is that symptoms of WLS problems may be disguised as pregnancy symptoms and ignored. If extreme discomfort or nausea lasts more than a short time, be sure to call your WLS doctor to get an opinion about it.
Congratulations! This is another dream that is being fulfilled because of WLS! I am so happy for you. As long as you pay attention to taking care of yourself, things will be just fine! Keep getting in your protein and vitamins, especially now!

I am pregnant too. I have had to increase calcium. O.K. here's my actual line-up... 1260 mg calcium
800 mcg folic acid (important)
500 mcg B12
2 flintstones
1 prenatal vit and I eat every 2-4 hours. This is all from a perinatologist who specializes in high risk preg. I am not seeing him because of the RNY though. I have other history. Some have to take iron if they become anemic. This yahoo group that I go to is PERFECT and all about pg after WLS. It is called [email protected]. Email me if you need help joining. There are over 1000 members and a lot of unique situations and advice. Everyone's OB is very different. Good luck.
