Please Help I am so frustrated
I had my surgery March 18 I went for my 6 month check on on Sept 9, I had only lost 67 pounds. I read all these updates with people who are doing their 6 month post op and they are down 80 to 130 pounds in 6 months. How are you doing it. I feel Like I am not losing anything. Please email me and let me know what I can do to speed up this process. I know THat i am not eating too much at least I dont think I am. I havent been sick at all only a little nauseatied at times. I have even started eating more protein than any thing else. What do i need to do. My email is [email protected]. Please someone email me and help Thanks.

I feel your pain. My 6 month mark was yesterday and I have lost 64 pounds. According to the Weight Loss calculator I should have lost 81 by now, which would put me under 200 pounds. Sighhhhhhhhhhh...I am going for my 6 month check in today with my nutritionist and I am embarrassed to go. I really want to call and cancel, but I am going to go ahead and go on in. Dont get me wrong I am happy to have lost 64 pounds, I just though I would lose it faster. Just know that you are not alone in this, there are other slow losers out there too. So, with that being said SLOW LOSERS UNITE!! WE WILL CONQUER THIS WEIGHT!! WE WILL EVENTUALLY GET THIS WEIGHT OFF!! WE DID NOT HAVE THIS SURGERY TO FAIL AGAIN!! WEIGHT, YOU WILL GET OFF OUR BODIES!! At least that is the way I feel. It is very frustrating though, I know!! We will be successful!!

Bobbie,
There is a lot of slow losers out there, but, You can do this if you really
really want too. You have a new tool to use. Cut back on the amounts
you are eating & up your water intake to at least 64 oz. per day. Our
Doc's out here in Las Vegas are the best in the country & he has only
eating 4 0z. of food 3 times a dayand no snacking. Mostly protien & Low
in fat. So If you are eating carbs cut them out or at least stick to the
whole grains. I you are snacking & don't realize it. try writing down every
thing you put into your body & see what you are actually consuming. It
wakes us up to what we are actually doing. If you are not exercizing start
walking a litlle at a time to start. & you will be amzed how far you can
get the next timeyou go out. Hang in there, You will get there. We are all
here to help! -

Hi Bobbie...I wouldnt stress over it..aslong as your eating right, not alot of carbs and getting in your water and protein it will come off. Im 6 months out and down a measly 60lbs... but hey thats 47% of my extra body fat gone which actually isnt bad for 6 months out. Im maintaining and gaining muscle which weighs more then fat anyway, and also the slower you loose the less saggy skin to deal with later on. All and all what Im trying to say is you wont fail at this...be patient, do what your doctor says and it WILL come off , sometimes slower is actually better.

Hi Bobbie,
I just had my 6 mos check up and I had lost 67#. I have tried a variety of things to speed it up--but to no avail. My doc was pleased and said "it will be good to have more time to get the new habits under your belt"--You know what, I am thinking I agree with him..Us slower losers have to stick to our plans--it will all come off eventaully! Hang in there! Terry
I am right there along with you guys! I am glad you all responded, it lets me know I am not alone or that this is not "NOT" working for me. I can see that sometimes this is just the way some of us lose weight. I am at a 73 lb loss in 6 months, with 2 of them only coming off this last month. It is hard an frustrating but I think it is fear that causes me to worry so much, fear that even with this tool, I will fail. I know I won't but sometimes I feel like I will, lets hang in there together. It will happen for all of us!
Bobbie,
I feel so guilty that i was worried about my slow loss, but to be really honest about it i started out at well over 400 pounds so i will lose faster at first. I understand exactly how you feel. Looking at those scales week after week and not seeing them move, or for me to see a 10 pound gain whenever i retain fluid is devastating. I too feel that I am not doing something right and maybe the wrong is having trouble getting my water in. I'm going to make an extra effort to do that, why don't you too and we can compare notes.
Good luck and keep your chin up. None of us are in the same shape we were in 6 months ago, so take comfort in that.
