My six month checkup
Well folks, I'm down 194 since my initial consult, and 170 since my surgery. I had my six month on Tuesday and the Dr. was very pleased to say the least. All of my numbers look great except for my iron levels. But, it wasn't that bad and he expected it as I did have a bleeder while in the hospital. I don't tolerate beef very well, so he told me to eat spinach, which I like anyway.
I don't see him again until March of next year. He is going to write a letter to my insurance co. at that time in hope of getting a TT covered for me. I really don't look too bad in clothes, but my belly looks like an elephant on a starvation diet. I'm working out and I do believe it would be worse if I wasn't.
In anycase, I was very happy that my tests show that I eating correctly and losing weight. I can't believe how much healthier I am now then I was just six months ago. Besides being obese still, all my risk factors have deminished. My blood pressure is 109/72 and all my other numbers are normal. This surgery has saved my life.
Ken,
WOW!!! you have lost one whole person, now what remains is all the good stuff in you!!! Congratulations on the loss. You have done wonderful and been a great inspiration. My husband who has not chosen WLS always reads your posts and you have been a positive influence to him, whether you know it or not. He likes to read what other men have to say about the surgery and it's success. I am so glad I did it, and I have been grateful everyday for how wonderful I feel. I too had an excellent 6 mos check up. All my blood tests were normal and things are looking great, well except the loose skin hanging around, but I am not going to let that get me down, I just tuck it in and go with the flow. Congratulations again!! Keep on going! Janelle
