CAN'T LOSE WEIGHT ANY MORE!

Although I've had pretty dramatic loss, I stalled for a few weeks in July. I was still losing size, but I actually gained some weight...which I thought was odd because I was (and still am) only eating 2 ounces per meal. I just turned it into a positive, though. I doubled my exercise and walking and just bulled through the situation. I back losing again. I don't know if pushing through it had any real effect, but I'm determined that if I hit a wall, I'll keep hitting it until I get through. EC

Dear Maureen: Please do the Stillman diet for 2 weeks. Do it exactly as written and I promise you you will lose 10 pounds. Once you stop then watch yourself carefully for 3 or 4 days - no more than 1000 cal. per day. You will be so happy. Here is the link - http://www.lowcarb.org/stillman.html This is not for long term use, but it is a GREAT plateau buster. I used it twice to jump start my weight loss when it slowed down. Let me know how you do. Love, Louise

Hi Louise, I don't mean to be a thread hijacker, but I read the info on the site you posted. So basically, you only eat lean meats, chicken and fish, boiled eggs, and cottage cheese, and drink 80 oz. of water each day? And you do this for two weeks? I am going to give this a try to see if my weight loss can be boosted. I am still losing, but it is very slow. Will this speed it up? Thanks, Tammy 373/273/170ish??

Reenie , you have been so supportive to all of us-I think your inches may have to catch up to what you weigh then you'll start losing again-I don't know if I'am explaining it right . It just seems like I stall out on losing, then the inches come off then I start the cycle all over again. Keep the faith , it will happen. Edie F

Don't panic!!!! I went through this last month. I didn't lose a pound then "BAM", I dropped 5 lbs. I takes time. Just remember you didn't gain all the weight at one time. If I can make a suggestion, "Don't weight yourself everyday or every other day. Weight every two weeks. You may be losing inches right now instead of pounds. I've got the hair loss thing going on to. I've started taking biotin and having a protien treatment done at my hair salon once a week or so. I also bought a protien treament from the salon to do on my hair at home on the weekends. This has helped me. Don't look at your success as a number (pounds lost). Look at it as, What can you do know that you couldn't do several months ago. Make you a list of things you want to accomplish and everytime you do, mark it off the list. Example: Where sleeveless shirts. Walk from the parking lot into the store without shortness of breath. If you do this, you will focas on your sucess and not the number and you will be surprised how your weight loss will pick back up. A watched pot never boils...Translated to a WLS patient.... I watched scale never comes down... Keep up the good work.... and hang in there... It will be okay.. Rebecca

Maureen, I was just about to type this exact post. I mean I am stuck at around 230 for about 6 weeks now. I made an appt with the surgeon to see about my stoma and pouchie size. I have gotten regular periods for the first time in my life though, so maybe that has something to do with it. I will look into that Stillman diet, but WOW, that is strict! -Donna
