Good Morning Dear Friends: It is early and I am up and elated. I have made it to my goal weight of 150. My BMI is 22.8. Now it is on to learning to maintain this weight. BUT first a new mini goal of 147. I think I would like to use the scales in the doctor's office w/o pushing the weight over the 150 notch. A big thrill for just a couple of pounds. That would be my pc's scale, my surgeon has a scale that can weigh cars. Until I figure out maintenance I think I'll continue to lose a bit anyway. Anyway, WLS has been a wonderful tool for me to attain this goal, and I am just delighted. Thank you all for the support and encouragment you have given me on this journey. You have helped make this journey interesting and fun. Love, Louise 5'8" 231/150, a loss of 81 pounds sizes 20/8 BMI 22.8

That is fantastic! You have earned every bit of that success! I am confident that you will do just as well in maintenance (as soon as you figure out how to STOP losing!) You are our maintenance canary! BRAVO! Joy

Louise, I am SOOOOO happy for you! You have given me a new sense of optimism that this is really going to happen, I CAN really get to my goal weight if I keep on keeping on, just like you! Go out and do something special for yourself today, maybe even something a little daring, something you never would consider doing as a heavy person. Thanks for the lift! I truly am so very, very happy for you. Best, Maureen

Dear Maureen: Thank you for a very sweet response. DH and I are renting an apt. in Manhattan for 2.5 months plus taking our grandkids (3 and 8 yo on a cruise). Manhattan is a walking town - one walks everywhere - to museums, theater up and down the subway stairs - it is only by losing all this excess weight that I would have considered this type of vacation. We grew up in NYC but to live in Manhattan is to be at the center of everything. On Sat. DD and I are going on a scavenger hunt at the American Museum of Natural History, and on Sunday DS and I are taking a bike tour of Manhattan. All this is thanks to WLS. You keep on working at your goal and you'll soon be there. Love, Louise
