I think my hair loss is coming to a halt!!!
I started losing it around 2 months out and I'm almost 6 months now and am just now getting to the point where I'm not pulling out thick tangles of hair anymore! Woohoo! For the past 2 days I have not had any noticable hair in the drain, either, so I am hopeful this is the end, finally! I have lots of new growth that looks so funny with my hair that is all one length. I'm still uncertain if I will cut it all off or not though. I want to try to keep it long....we'll see!!!

Hi Dina --
My hair isn't super long but it is shoulder length and when my hair started to fall out, I wanted to keep my length but make the new growth not so noticable. I also wanted the ability to be able to get back to a longer hair style easier than chopping it all off.
Soooo -- I had my hairstylist cut it in a style that has lots of lengths but none are shorter than my chin. I have kind of a really long Paris Hilton style with the flippy chunks. I love it. You can't see the new growth since it blends right in and the variable lengths are much more flattering to my thinning face AND I get to keep my length (most can still be pulled back in a pony tail).
I'd go in and ask your stylist for some recommendations
-- you don't have to cut it all off unless ya want to!

I am thinking that mine may be slowing a bit too! I asked the nutitionist about it and she said that if it keeps falling out, I might want to try silicon supplements. Some people have really had good luck with them. I'm giving it another week, and if it hasn't turned around, I may try it. (I have done really well on the protein and am already taking biotin and zinc).
Maybe the 6 month mark is magic...

Like others, I have had a really positive experience cutting my hair. I used to "hide" in my hair, as it was the one feature I really liked. I was shocked that the new short style actually looks good, I think I was dreading the way it used to (in my mind anyway) accentuate my round face. Well, my face isn't round and I find I can do something new.
So, if you do choose to cut it, you may be pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, me too!!! I've noticed for the past week or 10 days that the amount in the shower drain had changed drastically. I was afraid to think that it might have actually stopped. But I think its safe to say now. It's actually less that when my hair actually started falling out at 3 months.
So I guess all in all it was from month 3 through 5 that it was falling out. I can live with the way it is now. I know it will start filling in eventually.
Good luck to you all!
