It's about time you checked in!!!! I'm glad you are recovering, even if it is slow. And, wow! you are about to make the century club! That's not bad for just laying around for the first 3 months! I'm sure the therapy is exhausting, but it is the most important work you can be doing now. We all are thrilled that you are around to do it!!! I hope you have a great weekend. Give Kat, Dorothy, and Katie my love! Joy -63 lbs

Dear Rob: So nice to hear from you and your progress. Congrats on the great weight loss. Glad to hear that you are not hungry. I am always hungry but it is controllable. I live on about 600 cal. per day and am almost to goal, but you might still beat me at the rate you're going. Your strength will eventually return once your losing slows down and the physical therapist gets going on you. All the best. Love, Louise 231/155/150

We're all thinking of you. Just do what you can. I wasn't nearly as ill as you have been, but I did have pneumonia and a kidney infection after surgery and I will never forget that "weak as a kitten" thing when I started physical therapy. And my endurance is still not where I would like it to be at all. If I hadn't taken up meditation on the recommendation of the hospital, I would have gone nuts. It still helps me be patient and stay focused and I'll probably do it the rest of my life. Check out Dr. Andrew Weil and Jon Kabat-Zinn's CD if you have any interest in joining me. There's a bunch of his stuff on Amazon, so it would just come to your door. Kabat-Zinn also has audiotapes and full programs available, along with his book "Full Catastrophe Liviing." (And I think you're already something of an expert on catastrophe.) This is a breathing and focusing technique that you listen to, used in many hospitals (especially for pain clinics and oncology departments)very easy and pleasant to do, takes about 30 minutes per day. Especially when I could not breathe well, it helped me, also when I get frustrated, so I thought I would pass it on to you now that you're better but still working to get back to normal. You may think you don't want to be bothered with another thing -- and who can blame you -- but it's quite amazing and makes you feel good for a little while, so.... Gano

Rob, I am soooo glad you're recovery is going so well! I had my surgery on the same day you had yours, and I have followed your road to recovery, praying for you each and every day. I just wanted you to know that you had many people in Arkansas praying for you, as I placed you on many prayer lists in our local churches. I am overjoyed at your progress, and I will continue to pray for your complete recovery. Tammy 373/281/160? -92 lbs.
