Hi Terry, ouch! Hope you're okay. All I know for sure is that I've been told the only safe pain reliever is Tylenol. Check with your surgeon to be sure - heal quickly! M.

Hi Terry, Sorry to hear about your injury but it's wonderful that you are getting out there and doing things. The only medications we are supposed to take according to my Dr. is Tylenol. There is also ONE NSAID that we can take called Celebrex but you must be sure to eat before you take it. Any other NSAID's you should stay far away from, Motrin, Advil, Asprin and any prescription ones. I would suggest having your ortho Dr. contact your by-pass Dr. to ok any meds you are taking. Hope this helps. Carrie Hall

Terry - Advil/Motrin all those NSAIDS you are supposed to stay away from....seriously. Ask for Vicodin or something else like that and chuck the NSAIDs. I know of no less than 3 people who have had wls who nearly died from a bleeding ulcer after taking either aspirin or NSAIDs. NOT WORTH IT.
