Sudden Changes...

I was at a wls support group get-together last Thursday and we had a group picture taken. (I am at work so I can't share right now) Anyway, I was SHOCKED to suddenly see that I look almost normal sized. I know at my size now that I'm not, but I was amazed to see how my face looked so much slimmer. What a difference overnight. And the funny thing is that the morning of that meeting when I got off work, 2 different people remarked at how they were noticing my weight loss. Do you notice that you have the same kind of moments? I mean it's like one day you are just you - then the next you dropped a ton all the sudden! ??? Dina

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!It is funny to watch people do a "double take" and look at you when they have not seen you in a while and realize it is you. I saw a friend after about 4 months this weekend and when I opened the door, she stopped in her tracks. IT WAS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I still have the mental problem of seeing that person in the mirror and knowing it is me. I still think Large.

Isnt it amazing what a new day can reveal? I too have had those "ah-hah" moments and been just amazed that I actually am starting to look more normal sized. And I have had many people comment about my loss and how great I look. It is humbling and I am so thankful for the opportunity that God has provided for me, this second chance to really live. Its nice when you have those discouraging plateau times that people are noticing and commenting it give incentive and encouragement to keep plugging along!!! have a wonderful day, Janelle

That's neat Dina. I had a similar thing happen, only it wasn't me - there was someone at work that retired, and during the luncheon they had a montage of pictures from over the years. Well, I was talking with the 2 women that put it together, and they commented that although they have noticed my weight loss and have commented on it fairly often in fact, it really struck home when they saw some of my old pictures from past picnics and other events. They see me every day, and have forgotten where I came from. It was a real eye opener to them to really see how far I've come. That's why the pictures are so important. It helps us to see ourselves as we were and to compare where we now are. It helps to see the loss that we don't always see in the mirror. Dina - Isn't that great?!?! I saw myself walking into the office, reflected in the windows and I was surprised! Awesome pic Dina! You look great. It hasn't hit me yet I dont think. I mean I definitely SEE a difference and feel a difference but not enough to go..OH MY GOSH!!! LOOK AT ME!!! I have but ... I dont know... Mind games I guess im just I think once I finally finally get out of the clothing size I am STILL wearing and get down to like an 18 or somethign like that THEN I will be like OH MY GOSH!!! Even though Ive lost so much I am still wearing 26/28 top ... yeah they are alot looser and some I am outgrowing but that is whats so frustrating. I am going to have that moment one of these days ... I find my weight loss is sort of oddly distributed. My top has been waaaaay slower, particularly my arms. It's odd, I have the arms of someone who weighs about 40 pounds more than I do. I'm thinking of the final 30 lbs. I have to lose, like 28 of it is going to come off my arms. I wonder if that's possible for if I'm just, ahem,well... Gano

WOW!!!! You look awesome! Yes, I know exactly what you are talking about, but I have a hard time saying thank you when someone says how great I look. I have even gotten, wait I know your voice, but your face I dont recongized that is funny. I love how I look, I just want it all to be gone and I know in time it will. Keep up the good work.
