Hairloss
Dear Joy:
I have not experienced hair loss yet. 6 weeks prior to surgery and ever since I have taken 2 zinc and 2 biotin daily. My dd had experienced severe hair loss but it stopped after a while and it has grown back frizzy. She has recently started on the zinc and biotin. I finally convinced her that while I could not guarantee that it would improve her hair, it certainly could not hurt. I have also found that my nails are much stronger and growing well for the first time in my life.
I hope your hair gows back soon.
Louise
Joy,
Nope...no slowing down here. It's been real bad this 5 month...really, really bad. Thank heavens I had really thick hair to begin with! The stuff that feel out around month 3 is coming back in very curly...ringlets! But soon I'll have a head that look like Gollum (Lord of the Rings) with the add wonder of a new growth of ringlets.
I never miss my vitamins and supplements and come very close to my protein requirement if not going over every day. I don't think there's a magic solution to this at all.

My hair loss has not slowed at all!!!! I really didn't think that I would mine so much. See I have enough hair for 10 people. However, I have found that I don't care for the hair loss at all. I lose at least 2 handfuls every shower. I shed a ton when I brush and style. Say a prayer for me!

My loss has eased up slightly but only when I look in the drain. What I lose in the shower every day is light enough to let the water through without clogging now, but when I comb out it still comes out in thick tangles.
I still think I should have saved it for a Victorian Hair Weaving project to sell on eBay. Then maybe I could afford a wig!
Seriously though, I have noticable loss at my temples...just bizzare to me. I also have new growth underneath that gloms to my head so it looks like I've had chemo or something. Just weird how it is right now. If I wear it back (like in this picture) when you look at me from the side you can see the hair loss. I can't wear it down when it's curly as it looks a mess, but the curls make it poof out more. If I blow dry it straight, you can see the loss regardless. I have been on the verge of shaving it for awhile! (Okay - maybe not shaving...but you know...)
Dina
