vacation!!

I will be leaving South Carolina tomorrow for my trek to Michigan to see my mom,sisters and brothers. They have not even seen a picture of me since I've had surgery. When I last seen them in January, I was the largest of four girls, and now I'm the smallest . My daughter is going with me and I am so excited. We're going to visit the lighthouses that my dad use to run. Has anyone on the board not seen their family and had the same kind of reunion?? What was their reaction? See ya'll when I get back. Hi Edie! I just got back from a family re-union in Oregon. It was kind of interesting how different people reacted. I have a very large extended family and most of them I hadn't seen in 4 years and the rest about 12 years. Other than my immediate family, I didn't tell anyone ahead of time that I had had the surgery. I figured if someone asked me how I lost weight I would tell them but I didn't want the fact that I had the surgery to be the focus of conversation. Most people simply said I looked so good. Two of my aunts commented on my weight loss and asked me how I did it and I told them. One aunt in particular is kind of a busy body and a gossip. I knew that when I told her that the news would spread like wildfire. Well the very next morning I went to a post re-union get together at an uncles house and was immediately aware that the word was out. My sister and I actually had a good laugh about how quickly the word spread via this one aunt and the family grapevine. Anyway, I was asked a lot of questions which I answered truthfully. Nobody made any negative comments. I think it went well. It was so nice not being the biggest person there for a change. I felt so normal. Anyway I hope you enjoy your visit with your family.

Well that has to be a blast! I haven't seen family yet since I was a few weeks out from surgery. My mom was here after I got home from surgery and stayed a few weeks, but has only seen pictures of me since. We were going to have a family reunion in Sept but I think everyone is pretty tied up right now so we will wait. I wouldn't mind waiting a little while anyway so I can be REALLY down there when they see me. If I saw them in Sept, I'd still be in the 230's or so. I want to be under 200. Dina
