Jaimaca Bound
Hi all - Jim and I are doing well, so much better these days. We really have walked through fire in attempting to figure out our marital issues and solve them. I do believe we are intact and committed to staying together. We are planning a week's vacation in Jamaica in April to celebrate 20 years of marriage - and to take the honeymoon we couldn't afford when we were first married. Has anyone been to Jaimaca, specifically any of the resorts there (we're staying at a Sandal's all-inclusive resort--no kids allowed!) - any tips on getting the most out of our stay? We may even renew our vows there; the dress I wore when we got married was a size 28-30 - I so want to wear a pretty size 6-8 dress and say those words--and then some--over again. Am I being silly? Thanks for your advice, I'll wait to hear from you. Your Reenie
Hello my dear friend.
No, you are not being silly!!! I think that you should follow your feelings on the vows. I'm delighted that you and Jim are working things out. When I saw the two of you walking the halls in Middlesex Hospital after surgery, I saw love and caring. I have been hoping that the two of you can work through your problems and find that foundation again. I'm very happy for you both.
I have never been to Jamaica and have no advice for you other that to HAVE A BLAST!!! In case I forget in April, Happy Anniversary!! Tomorrow is my 26th anniversary. Abigail and I went out for a very nice dinner on Saturday night to celebrate in advance. While it may be nice and romantic to have your anniversary on Valentine's Day, it has it's downside. Everybody goes out on Val's Day, so every place is over-crowded and the service suffers. As a result, we have decided to pick another day and celebrate then. Also, since I work 3p to 11p, I will not be home tomorrow evening. Of course, the upside is that it's damn hard to forget your anniversary!!!
CHEERS!!
Mike
Hey Reenie
Have never been to Jamaica either (unless you count Jamaica Queens NY ) but I'm sure you will have a blast. We have friends in CT who have been going to Sandals resorts for years and love it.
I am happy that you and Jim have been able to work through things. I've now been married half of my 57 years and there have been good and there have been some very bad times. I can't say as we have 'worked' through them as much as survived them. We have a solid companionship and a future planned and Mr Mo is my number one supporter, so I guess I'm in this for life.
Hugs, Mo
Awesome! I'm so glad that things are going so well for you and Jim!
Jamaica is great--Be sure to take a trip to Dunns River Falls. You can climb it--it is a series of short falls and beautiful pools. I did it with a camera in a back pack without getting it wet, but I recommend taking a disposable waterproof camera.
The culture is a bit overwhelming--people will follow you trying to sell things. Just smile and say NO thank you if you are not interested. They do not mean harm. It is fun to bargain. Do not buy street jewelry expecting it to be real.
The snorkeling and diving is great too. I have only been there by cruise, so I don't know about resorts. I'm sure you will have a great time!
