Well as I sit here the same size now for at least a month I wonder am I alone on the bad plateau stand of mine. I know that losing 75 pounds is great and all but I still have that much more I need to lose. Is there anyone else that is still on a plateau that has lasted this long. I know that im not eating enough most days but im doing pretty good on my water most days now. So any input would be helpfull. LaRHonda-75(still)

LA Rhonda, You are not alone I have been stuck at 85 lbs for a couple of weeks now. I got to 90 then went right back to 85 a few days later and that where I seem to want to stay. I also no that I am mych better'' with the 85 lbs gone, but still have a 100 to go. Everyone tells me that my body is catching up with the weight loss & so forth but it does get aggravating at times. What kind of things are you eating, when you do eat? Are you stiking to mostly protien? Let me no , maybe together we can figure this out!! Marilyn, the bearlady Bullhead City, AZ ( 3/15/04 85 lbs)

I'm at a plateau too. But I knew it was coming. I lost a lot of weight last month, and figured, this month it would be slow going. Time to increase the walking and protein. That usually starts me up again. Just a question for y'all. You know you have to exercise, but how do you make yourself enjoy it? That you want to get out there and do it?

Me too!!! I'm stuck at -78lbs. I wanna get moving again!!! I have trouble with meat but I eat a lot of nuts and high protein snacks. I also have a protein drink or smoothie at work most days. I do a lot of walking. I try to get my water in too, but I'm just stuck..... yuck! How about hair loss? Mine seems to be getting thinner, I want my body thinner, not my hair!!!!! Lots-o-luck! Bonnie

HOLY COW -- NOT THE STILLMAN DIET!!!!!!:barrf: I have been among the missing until today, when I just HAD to write to you in response to your recommending the Stillman diet. Please, do NOT do this to yourself. I remember following this diet in 1967 (yes, I am that old), and have followed it, on and off, ever since then. It DOES NOT WORK!!!! It will make you feel ill and will seriously mess up your ketones. When I think of all the times I followed this and gave up after a few weeks, I still shudder. I felt dizzy, always hungry, and constantly naseous. As soon as you start eating "normally" again, the weight will come back, and then some. Your pouch will make you feel even worse. If you want to jump start your weight loss again after a plateau, just skip eating carbs (breads, crackers, potatoes, etc.), and eat everything else. This has worked for me, time and time again, since having Lap-RNY on March 1st of this year. Granted, I am presently at a plateau, but I know it's because my exercising has been inconsistent and I have been enjoying way too many late-night snacks. Also, with the Stillman diet, YOU MUST DRINK 8 8-OUNCE GLASSES OF WATER PER DAY, which is not a bad thing, but it WILL take up space in your pouch that really should be taken up by protein. If you don't believe me, try the Stillman diet for a week and tell me how you feel. I would be interested in hearing about your experience. God bless you, and make sure you have plenty of famatodine or antacids handy. You're going to need them. Rita 299/232/143

I too have been stuck since sometime in June. Actually I have lost about 10 pounds since the beginning of June. All total I have lost 80 and I do know that it is a good thing and I do feel better. I just want the other 60 to go. Or at least show progress in that direction. I have added cycling everyday for 30 minutes. I cover about 6-7 miles each day. I am trying to increase the time to 45 minutes. So far having the bike in front of the TV has been the best bet for me. Time whizzes by. To say that this plateau is depressing me is the biggest understatement I can make. I think that my present weight is the weight that I have been at most of my adult life. Did not like it then and still don't like it. What is with hitting a plateau at a loss of 70-80 pounds? We all seem to be around the same loss number. Hang in there. They promise me it will break.
