No room.
I hit my 20 week anniversary this past Monday and am growing just a little concerned. Solid foods still dont' set well with me most of the time. Earlier on, I could tolerate chicken and tuna, but now I cannot. It seems that there's just no room in there for anything solid at all. I'm still depending on a protein shake to get in the majority of my protein.
Now, I've heard from other WLS patients who spent their first year depending on shakes, soup, and popsicles and they're doing fine.
But should I be worried? All of you seem to be doing so well eating a variety of solid foods and I'm not, so I'm wondering if I should bring this up to my doctor next week.
Thanks.
Sounds like it could be a stricture. I am the queen of strictures and can recognize them from afar! lol Of course, it may not be but you probably should discuss it with your surgeon. It may be nothing but what if it IS something? The thing that makes me suspicious it that it feels like there is no room in there.
Do you have any problems with eating other foods?
Good luck.

Hi Tracey,
We share a date and I have on and off problems eating. There are times when things go down just fine, and I can eat virtually anything (assuming it is well chewed and not chicken) and other days when even the soft stuff hits my stomach and I have such pain it's indescribable. I got sick the other evening on chicken noodle soup.
I see my doctor again this coming week and intend to bring it up with him again. My suggestion would be that you must definitely make your doctor aware of what is going on with you!
Hugs,
Mo
