Baby bird preparing to fly the nest
OH boy! My youngest son Alex, almost 28 years old has lived with me for the past 5 years while he got himself together and saved up some money. After all this time I thought that was just an old country song and he'd be living with me until the tables reversed and everyone would say oh that nice man has his mother living with him!
he's moving out! on the 24th! I will be home alone for the first time in 5 years! I've forgotten how nice and how alone it will be but am so darn excited I can't wait!
this tiny condo will seem big again. I'll have my office back! ooooo I can't wait. I've already bought new curtains for that room and am planning on taking time off from work just to paint and clean. then i'll be able to clean up the den where he had picked his favorite spot. i swear there is a dent in the couch that fits his butt.
i'll miss him but you won't get those postings until march!
Pammy,
When my son moved out, I felt like a teenager left in the house alone when her parents went on vacation. I don't think the kid was all the way out of the driveway before I started ripping the carpet out of his room and redecorating. I walked around the house naked all the time and blasted the stereo.
Hugs,
Connie
Hi Pam;
While my baby birds have not fledged yet, this is the first year that they've both been away at college. It has been a tantalizing look at what the futute holds!! I love my girls with all of my heart, but it's so quiet and peaceful around here with them gone!! My wife and I have noticed a lot less stress in our relationship of late. Dont get me wrong, we weren't doing a lot of fighting, but there was frequently minor bickering, disagreements, and general tension in our world. We have had a lot of stress lately from various outside sources, but home has become a place of refuge which is really quite pleasant. Enjoy your freedom!!
Mike
