Kerry, My iron was low at my 6 week check up and the doc prescribed Chromagen. I very good iron supplement. At my 3 month check up all the numbers were good, so I've continued with the Chromagen. It's a huge horsepill but have had no troubles with getting it down. I definitely have more energy since beginning the Chromagen. Seems like I remember Robin R having to have an iron infusion.... Hope this helps! Va

I am a nurse and work with hemotologists (blood specialists). We have A LOT of patients who have had WLS in the past and require IV iron infusions several times a year. I think it is one of those "risks" of the surgery with the lack of absorption. I say just do whatever you can to avoid it, but if you need the IV iron, take it and have follow-ups faithfully. Karla
