Hey folks, Today is my 5 month Anniversary and I'm down 69 pounds and 68 inches. It hasn't been fun but I like the results so far. TAZ! (my pouch) is till a carnivore and hates carbs!! I'm the self proclaimed Queen of Dumping! I can dump on just about anything and have become very afraid of trying any thing new. Thankfully TAZ! still loves snow crab legs (my favorite food) and I have them as often as I can afford. I used to love raw vegetables of all kinds, but TAZ! is not a fan. If I try to sneak some in with my meat TAZ! gets fussy. Oh well the price we pay to be lighter on our feet.... Check my profile I have a new composite picture posted. Happy thoughts, Va

The KNEES?? Well between the SUPARTZ injections and the weight loss they at least don't hurt like they did. Unfortunately the left one is still just as unstable. Apparently when I had knee surgery when I was 18 that doc cut the ligament on the outside of that knee. Just finding this out in April of this year, and now I'm too old for a ligament transplant. I'm hoping the knee replacement will add some hardware that will stabilize the knee. That's still months away though. Ortho Doc still wants me as light as possible unless I traumatize it some how and we can't wait any longer. How are you doing? I did read where the Alaska trip was a big success. What else is going on?? Va

It sounds like your weight loss is going great. At least you are making that improvement to your knee problem. Sorry about the ligament. That is a real bummer! I had such a great time in Alaska. Quality time with a grown daughter is a real treat. And we saw and did such amazing things! I would have been watching instead of participating before WLS. But while I was gone, my stress was building at home. My mother took a turn for the worse and started having heart spells almost every day that give her chest pains and leave her gasping for breath. It takes about 2 hours and 4-5 doses of morphine and nitro to make them stop. My husband was exhausted from being primary caretaker by the time I got home. I appreciate him so much for giving me the relief. We don't have any idea how long she will continue like this. My already stressful job that averages 12 hours per day also got worse. My good friend and boss turned in her resignation while I was gone. I need to make a change too, but with Mother like she is, this is no time to start a new job! Then yesterday, my 65 year old brother called to tell me he has terminal cancer. I'm thankful that I had some R&R before returning home to cope with all of this. I am no stranger to stress, but this is the first time I have faced it without using food as a crutch. I'm taking a day at a time and the Lord is giving me the ability to muddle through it. OK--that was more information than you asked for! Sorry... Just needed to vent, I guess! I'm hanging tough. Actually made it to Curves today. This is a difficult season for me, but God is good and life is good. Joy -59

Joy! Oh my gosh!! Sorry to say but when it rains it pours. Sometimes I think God believes that we handle stress best when it's piled on top of each other. I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom's decline. I'm coming up on the anniversary, Sept. 23, of both my parent's deaths. 3 years apart, but the same day. I've been real weepy lately, I just really miss my Mom. Her name was Joy. It's so hard to see your parent's health decline. Thankfully both of my parent's were of sound mind to the end. We just didn't expect the end to be so close............ Glad to see you are able to work out. That's a stress reliever in and of itself. Hang in there!! Vent anytime you need to.. Va -69
