I have lost 70 lbs since March 2. I'm very happy and feel great but I am loosing slower than many. I got a slow start due to several complications. I'm averaging -10 lb per month. I have walking three miles 5 mornings a week for the last two months. I'm going to Florida on Sept 14. I will see friends and family I have not seen since I lost the 70 lbs. I'm using this trip to remotivate me to loose as much as possible the last month of my 6 month window. I would like to set a realistic goal. I have 7 weeks. I just added a Pilates workout in the evenings to my moring exercise. I believe I can loose 20 but would love to shoot for -30. Any ideas to seed it up. Thanks, Robin 247/177/130

Robin, I don't know where you got the idea you only have a 6 month "window" to lose the weight. We continue to lose for up to two years. At the least for 18 months. You have plenty of time with your tool to take the weight off steadily. Don't dispair and try to ru****

Actually, a lot of surgeons tell their patients this. I have a hunch though that it's because the surgeons want to "up" their quick success statistics as much as possible. The better off the statistics, the more these practices and surgeons thrive (more patients, hospital/program grants, TV appearances, articles, published papers, etc.) To be fair though, I think the better the statistics, the more of a chance we have to keep some of these evil insurers from robbing people of their right to have this surgery! I feel so bad for some people when I think that their insurance companies may not allow them to get this second chance that we've gotten!

Robin, It's weird....I lose my weight in 2 week cycles. I'll lose 1/2 pound to a pound a day for 2 weeks, then nothing for 2 weeks, then again...over and over...and over. The only thing I have to suggest is to cut back on the carbs...up the protein and increase your water....and walk, walk, walk. Same thing I would say if you were trying to break a plateau. I'm cheering you on!!! GET 'EM!!! Happy thoughts, Va Was/Am/Wannabe 232/165/130 -67 pounds

I lose exactly the same way! I think it must be estrogen related. My only solace is that before surgery I would gain 3-5 pounds on the weeks I only lose two or three now.
