Happy but sad......weight loss
Well its the numbers game again....... I am now 4 months out and have lost a total of 57lbs after surgery and 20right before surgery... a total of 77lbs.......Happy about that but if I don't count the 20 before my rny I guess I am not doing that good.....this is really a numbers game to me sometimes......yes I know we are all different and loss different....so I am happy.... My sister had this done over a year ago and only lost 70 after surgery and 10 before.......so I was scared that I would do the same..... she does eat a lot of things I would never touch .....(cake) for one thing..
I only weigh every few days and it only moves the scales once in a while so daily weighing doen't help me at all.......guess I was wonding is anyone like me....weight loss wise............sorry to sort of vent.......about my scales........guess I am a very slow loser............but still a happy one.........smile

Do not get discouraged....you are doing fine!!!! Have you gone to the weight loss planner??? Whenever I am in doubt I usually click on the weight loss planner and it always reassures me. I am not the fastest loser, but I guess just right on target. I work in a medical center and it is very hard to stay off the scale, but let me tell you the scale can drive you crazy
I am 5'4 and started at 255lbs I am currently 190lbs and I truly feel I could have lost some more....but I have to keep telling myself I will get there when I do. Focus on the positive from your weight loss and you will ahve more happy days rather than sad ones. Keep up the good work!!!!!

Donna... I too consider myself a slow looser. I had rny on 03/26/04 & I'm down 55 pounds. I lost 20 of it in the first week. So I am so disappointed in the progress too. I have 2 protein shakes daily, now I'm trying to get in an extra one where I can. I drink at least 50 ounces of water a day. I joined Curves 6 weeks ago & the first month I was there I lost only 7 pounds. Hell, I could do this on Weigh****chers!!! But the reality is that I can't do this on WW. I had in the past, when I was in my 30's & still smoked but had not had any success in quite a few years. I gave up even trying. So.....this surgury has been a blessing. I do feel so much better with just the 55 pounds off. I went from a size 30 top to a 22 or an XL & from a 24 pants to an 18. So I am very happy with that change. One of my concerns is that we are loosing slow & will miss our window of opportunity for maximum weight loss. I belive my surgeon said that we have 18-24 months to loose the most & then after that it will slow down. I still have 100 pounds to loose so I am concerned about that. Keep your chin up & your carbs down & focus on the good changes & not what everyone else is doing. I know it's hard but be patient.
To get to the Weight loss planner, go to the "site map" (top of the screen, to the left of "your profile"). click on the "general tools" tab and page down to the weight loss planner. Its easy and nice to view where you might be and should be. It was an eye opener for me and made me feel I was doing fine!

I must say that I have a sister that had the surgery twice 1984 and i***** She now weighs over 300 lbs again. I am very sarced because I know you can mess this up if you don't eat right. I am very careful with my diet I stay on the Atkins and do not cheat!!! I started out weighing 284 lost about 10 pounds pre surgery and now weigh 208. I to wonder of I am lossing fast enough. I think seeing where my sister went wrong does help me to try to do what is right. I think you are doing GREAT!!!!! Good Luck and happy lossing.
