favorite drinks?
I like the snapple diet peach ice tea. in fact i pop the plastic bottles ONLY in the freezer for a hour or so, not so they freeze solid but just so that they get all slushy its really yummy then! i like adn do that to the liptons ice tea too but the peach flavored snapple is my favorite.
I also like to suck on ice cubes. it helps take away the thirst and it fills me up too. something about the cold does something to my pouch that says OOOO thats good and i'm full!
what we do to our pouches! Do you find they have a mind of their own? Sometimes I talk about it like it is a twin to me but different. ut oh might be time to call the head doctor hahaha
good luck and god bless,pam
Hi Pam,
FYI-Your post made me think about another support group friend (3 years post op) who had a real craving for eating ice. She literally would get up in the middle of the night to eat it! Anyway, she was browsing on the Internet and found an interesting article that linked ice cravings with low iron. She made an appointment with her doctor and guess what? She was terribly anemic!!! So much so that she had to get iron infusions! So, I hope you are getting your labs done!
Just a thought,
Karen
Hey Nic,
I can't lie... I drink a shameful amount of iced tea and iced coffee. Mostly in the mornings. I love cold coffee with caramel and chocolate sugar-free syrup and a splash of non-fat milk. I have taken Dina's advice about warm coffee in the morning and that seems to keep me more regular than before.
I drink quite a bit of Crystal Lite, bu****er it down a good deal because it's just too sickly sweet for me otherwise. If I'm hungry, a V-8 makes me happy for very few calories. Sometimes I flavor my water with a touch of cranberry juice. I find that I get sick of water, water, water and just flavoring it a bit with some sort of juice makes it more palatable without adding too many calories.

My breakfast drink each day is a mixture of chocolate unjury, SF hot chocolate mix, instant coffee, spenda, cinnamon. I mix it in a canister. It's probably the healthiest thing I do for myself each day! The only warning is that you can't mix it with super ho****er because the unjury lumps. I don't mind warm though, and it is also great iced.
