So what are you eating?
I am curious about what everyone is eating. I am having a hard time. I am not getting sick it just seems that I cant eat much at a time and the foods I want to eat I am not sure I can handle (like steak). So what do you eat? Here is an average day for me. I need to put it on fitday but I just havent had much time lately. I would love your opinions about my diet and to hear what you are eating. Oh and I have a question, when you read serving size and it says it is say 20g protein per serving but you can only manage to eat 1/4 of the serving, how on earth do you get in your protein? I am having a real problem tolerating shakes lately so tell me something else that is high protein. Thanks!
breakfast-soft boiled egg (I can just about finish the entire thing)
small cup coffee with equal and skim milk
snack- a few peanuts, piece of cheese
lunch-chicken quesidilla (I know I spelled that wrong) minus the tortilla shell.
snack-few bites of a banana
dinner- chicken (I split a chicken breast between myself and 4 children-not sure how much I had in ounce size. About 6 bites) a tbs of apple sauce and some cooked spinach.
losts of water. Not sure if I am getting enough in though. I carry around 24oz bottles but like it cold so when it gets warm, I stick it in the frig and pull out another bottle.
Ok so that was yesterday. What do you think? I have lost about 44lbs so far and have been stuck for about a week now. Help!!!

Ok, my diet really sucks right now, but I'll tell you what I'm eating. There are a lot of things that I can't eat. Things like rice, pasta, stringy meat, dairy products, and anything with fat in it (which is a lot of stuff!). I'm eating crackers, hamburgers, french fries (me bad, I know), tostadas, eggs, protein bars, and lentils. I have a hard time with the protein as well. I try to get it all in by eating, but I usually only make it to 30 grams a day.
I think your diet looks great! I do the same with water, so I'm not sure how much I drink either. Not enough, I do know that! Just keep doing what you're doing and you'll break the plateau. One thing that I'm doing that is keeping me from hitting a plateau, is vary your calories and carbs a day. Don't eat the same thing every single day. It's like our bodies get used to that amount and then gets stuck. Some days I'll only have 200 calories, some days I'll have 600. The most I've ever had was about 650 calores a day. I also don't like to go over 25 grams of carbs a day.
I hope all of this information helps you and anyone else. Keep up the good work!

I am having a big problem with the protein. I can't keeps meats down. But i just had a small salad with some ham on it (lets see how long before i
i love ham but ham doesn't love me) I drink lots of water. I have this big water jug i got a walmart that hold a gallon of water, but i keep ice in it with the water, and drink 2 of them a day. if i have the urge to snack, i have sugar free popcicles.
last night i had a piece of white bass. I was the biggest fish and seafood person before wls, and now it is so odd nothing agrees with me.
And yes, i was bad too, i had a few fries with my fish. No one is perfect. We all have to have something special once in a while.
Why is it that no one has come up with protein pills? It would be awesome if we could just take a few pills a day that gave us the protein we needed. How do we get someone working on this???
I have heard of liquid protein, so i am going to check in to that, because i guess tha 1 teaspoon has 20g of protein. I would drink a cup a day. LOL

My taste up and changed on me so now I don't like anything anymore. But this is what I've had so far....
B-nothing (neauseated~!!!)
32 ounces water
L- 1/3 hard shell taco (got sick couldn't eat more)
20 ounces water
16 ounce diet tea
S-not yet....not hungry.
Bad I know but I can't help it!!!
Struggling with protien, shakes and stuff.

It looks like you are doing good. Just eat enough until you get full. You may only get a few bites in, but just make sure you are getting enough protein in. You do want to make sure you get all the food groups in, which it looks like it. My doctor says to get at least 64 oz of water in every day. Still try to get your protein in. I have a lot of problems with the protein shakes, but I found Carb Options Vanilla Shake. They have 20 g of protein in each one. Also, you can always try mixing some in a blender. There is always recipes for protein drinks on the messageboards. If you are stuck at losing weight, up your protein and your water.
Are you doing any activity? Try walking as much as possible. That will also help you get over your plateau.
Keep up the great work!!

You are not getting in enough protein. I'm having a similar problem, and have just ordered some protein powder that many folks in my bariatric program are raving about. It's Optimim Nutrition Any Whey. It's tasteless and can be mixed into stuff you are going to cook, like soups and stuff. Can't say how it actually is to me yet, cause it hasn't come yet, but as soon as it does I will try it and post. My protein problem has been the same as with food. It might taste ok the first time I try it, but by the 2nd or 3rd time I can't stomach it. Food is the same way with me. I've been eating lots of FF refried beans with salsa. Other staples of mine that seem to work ok: cottage cheese, string cheese, cheddar or american cheese, yogurt, wendy's chili.
