Thiamin (B1) answer to stalls?
Well, I just got back from the doctor and got my lab results. I am low in B1 (Thiamin). I got some tablets but couldn't find anything that could give it to me sublingually. I hope this does the trick.
What I found out, amongst some disturbing complications if you let it go for too long, is that thiamin aids in digestion and in processing carbohydrates. Wow - incredible! So during the time I've been stalled, it could have been my low thiamin levels all along.
This would explain the weakness in my legs and arms, aching muscles and such...along with a slight potassium deficiency. So I checked all my vitamins that I have and none of them....not even the sublingual B complex liquid has thiamin (B1) in them. None of them! Go figure.
I did read on a website just now that apparently Bugs Bunny Complete has thiamin, so maybe when my levels are back to normal I can go to that. Or maybe I'll chuck all of this and just go ahead and order the bariatric vitamins online. Yeesh!
Anyway - I wanted to post this for the slow losers out there. Make sure they check your thiamin and see if you are low. It might be happening to more people than we realize.

Dina,
I just checked the content on my sugar free chewable bugs bunny vitamins and they do indeed have B1 in them. I also checked the online vitamins my nutrtionist recomends they are chewable taste like oranges and have B1 in them as well. You can get them through www.bariatricadvantage.com My nutrionist recomends the iron, b12, multi-vitamin, and calcium, if your intrested.
Hope this helps,
Leslie
Dina,
Thanks so much for the info! I am going to see my nutritionist for the 1st time today and going to ask her about it
I havent lost a darn thing in 14 days and even gained 2 and lost 2 up and down up and down. My vitamins have thiamin 1.6 mg or (107%) Do you know how much we are supposed to be gettin in? I usually take 3 of the chewables (OneSource Active Kids Complete) brand. so thats 4.8mg. Thanks again for the info. Best wishes.

Dina, I take the flinstones complete they have both of those ingretence in them I have only stalled for four days at a time. I have lost 35 lbs and inches are melting off. I wore size 26 pants the day of surgery, I wear size 18 now and they are loose. I also take the vita-k calcium chews. I really don't weigh myself as much anymore but I do try on smaller clothes a lot ... I have a ball in the stores now. I only buy one thing at a time but I try on about 10 things... LOL
I'm doing the same thing with clothes. I actually shopped in a "normal" store and I just couldn't get over the wonder of it. This was one of my dreams before surgery. I'm just at the top of the size range in most stores (18 as well), but it is so cool to be back in the game. I'm not buying much because we're changing so fast. But a piece or two lifts my spirits while I hang in there with khaki pants I had from days when I was able to lose a little of what I'm losing now. I remember how I struggled and those pants were tight. Now they're loose and on their way out. Once I throw out this set of khaki's, probably in a month or so, then I have NOTHING in reserve. In spite of the expense, I'm so looking forward to that day -- it will be a big banner day. I find it weird to have sales ladies pay attention to me...
