Help!!!!!

I am having these uncontrollable Hunger Cravings!!! I mean intense! Whats going on?? Its like the same cravings from before I had surgery! I tried to eat some combos but I ate too fast and well...hurl. I had a nice little tiny salad for lunch and like 15 minutes afterwards I was STARVIN! Maybe its just mental but Ugh the feeling sucks! I tried drinking lots of water and it filled me up but I still feel ravenous!! Anyone else feeling this way?? If so any suggestions that kill that craving??? It really stinks! Feel like im gonna have an anxiety attack or somethin! Elizabeth M -44

I've heard that it takes a lot of salad to fill up on. I eat every 2 to 3 hours or I get hungry. Cottage cheese or 4-6oz of a protein drink fills me up the best. And sometimes adding a little something crunchy like a couple of saltines.

Elizabeth, I agree about the salads, while they are healthy and low cal, they dont have protein, unless you add eggs, meat or cheese, and I get hungry fairly fast on them as well. I dont have intense hunger pains, but I do know that the protein drinks and cheese keep me full the longest. Try eating more often if you are waiting more than 3 hours between times. I try to eat regular meals, but I do snack on cheese or fruit between times. The more I stick to my protein needs and eat less carbs the less hungry I feel and the less cravings that pop up to haunt me! Hope it helps. Janelle

Start with the protein. A salad is fine after you've had your protein. That's what will fill you up and satisy the hunger. I've been ending my protein meals with some watermelon chunks and that seems to really hit the spot! mgm (still -39)

Thanks everyone, I am having another salad...saw your posting after gettin it Its mostly turkey cubes red beans and cheese (about 1 tbsp each) and only like 4 spinach leaves. I feel alot better today...yesterday I felt like I was going to go NUTS! lol. I just felt so darn hungry all day long! You know I bet it is because I havent had my protein drinks. I ran out of them and need to buy some more. I need to set myself up on those drinks again and get to down to some loosing weight business!!! Been stuck on a plateau for 14 days now !!! Yup - just as everyone said - protein is the key. Carbs and light veggies like that will not stick with you as long. If you don't have protein drinks, then go ahead and have something protein. If you are getting the same amount of calories and protein you may as well eat it.....and it will stick with you longer. Dina
