Hi Andie, Oh, the tired**** me on Monday big time. (and I was 6 wks out on Monday) .. I was asleep before 8 p.m. Monday, before 9 p.m. last night, and now at barely 5:45 I could fall asleep. I have lost interest in food. I am at the point now where I can eat/try anything my system will tolerate. But unless it is REALLY spicey I don't seem to taste it, so I stick with my standbys .. cottage cheese, diced fruit and yogurt. I am making sure that I get my two protein shakes in for my 100 grams of supplemental protein. I really try to get 40 to 50 grams from food too, but the last few days it's not been easy. AND, I have had really bad gas the last couple of days too. As long as the burps come out noisily and freely, they feel great, but a lot of them just sort of stagnate, and it's not comfy I am hoping this energy thing is just because I over did it on Sunday (we did the Bay Bridge Walk .. 4.3 miles shore to shore . and then some . .lol) I'll just keep downing the protein and my vitamins and hope !!! and tell Dr S about it next week when I see him. Hugs, Mo doin' a tired out happy Mo dance

Mo, what kind of protein drinks are you on?? I have tried the protein drink and can not tolerate them. It just tastes so nasty to me! Just wondering because I desperatley need to boost my protein intake. Thanks Sam

Hey Samantha~ I love the Labrada Proplete Gold shakes. All of the flavors I have tried have been delicious! I am very picky about protein shakes I can't even stand the Nectar ones that everyone seems to like. I bought mine as samples (almost all of her protein shakes are available as samples) from vitalady.com but I am going to be buying some in the large size now. Yum! Happy eating, Angela

Hi Sam, I have found 2 different protein shakes that I like. I use 3 scoops (for 60 grams) of EAS Advantage powder (chocolate cause that is what they have at BJ's) with a bit of instant decaf coffee and a couple of Equal packets, 8 oz of water and a cup of ice cubes, in the blender. I carry that to work with me. When I get home I use two scoops (for 40 grams) of PermaLean (that is the brand my doctor carries). I have both the chocolate and vanilla PermaLean. I sometimes mix the PermaLean with a flavored (Fruit2O) water. Both the EAS and the PermaLean mix in the blender with no nasty clumps or gritty taste. They also don't get 'thick' if they sit. I sometimes actually wait for them to settle so the froth goes down and they are not quite so 'shakey'. My doc insists on the protein shakes. At this point (if I am getting my 50 to 60 grams from food), I could cut back to 80 grams supplemental, but my food intake is not consistent. My protein shakes will be a way of life for me for the rest of my life. I have heard of a few other protein drinks at group, but I forget what they are. If I remember to ask or write them down, I'll send them to you. Hugs, Mo

FYI about beef: my surgeon told me no beef until a year out because it's the hardest meat to digest. About the sleepies? I had my 6-wk follow-up on Monday (even though it's only been 5 wks), and my surgeon said it's not too uncommon. She said to make sure I get all of my protein in, eliminate carbs, and use an extra sublingual B12 ever day if I need. HTH. Hugs, -Marcie 275/249/135

I hit a slump around 6 weeks too. Turns out I was vitamin deficient in a few things including Thiamin which I posted about recently.....might want to read it. Dina

I still have sleepy days every now and then where I am so tired I just want to sleep. I think our bodies work really hard with all this change, and so it gets tired. I have been getting my protein in with an Isopure shake every morning. It is 50 grams of protein and doesn't taste bad. The colder the better! The best I can describe it is it tastes like cold hot chocolate, and I think that isn't too bad considering how some of them taste. Hope this helps...You can get it at GNC or at retailers online. Just put Isopure into a search engine. Cathy 271/233/160

YES. I have slept through my alarm and missed business appointments this morning. I have been told that when you're dropping weight fast, this is inevitable. I remember the same thing from my Optifast days. I did go get my B12 shot yesterday and plan to check with my doctor in case I'm developing a potassium deficiency. I've had some cramps in my legs. Gonna prioritize banana and spinach in what I'm eating. Gano
