Favorite Foods
Hey guys, I thought we might post some of our favorite foods that are helping us stay on track. I don't stray too far from what I know is good for me and I'd like to broaden what's available - please join me in posting what you enjoy eating the most these days and how it's helping you stick with your maintenance goals.
I LOVE the asian chicken salad at McDonald's -- I know, I hear they pour chemicals all over the veggies, but damn that salad is good. And I can eat the whole thing in one sitting without a problem.
My favorite food these days is those little soy beans they put in the asian salad - I forget what they're called...but I love 'em!

That asian chickie salad at McDonald's is yummy. I get it all the time. I do not usually put the Paul Newman dressing on. I do not eat the lettuce in the salad. I also like the fruit&walnut snack pack salad. I eat the red apple slices and dip them in the lowfat yougurt. My husband will eat the grapes,green apple slices and the walnuts. The soybeans are edamne(I spelled it wrong). I buy frozen soybeans and eat them all the time.
i haven't been to MickeyD's in ages I didn't know they have that kind of salad. I will have to try it on treat day.
for me the thing that helps me stay on track is packing my lunch. i usually put the same things in it all the time. i need to have the convience of being able to pull off into a parking lot someplace somewhere to eat whenever i can grab a few minutes to do it. its usually between customers. so i like to have "finger" foods but i don't like bread. i'll sometimes pack chicken pieces but one of my favorites is to take 1/2 of a low fat low carb flat bread (whole they have 80 c) then i take 3 slices of ham, or turkey, or chicken and make a little sandwich! i love it the flat bread doesn't stuff my pounch and make me uncomfortable its easy to eat tastes yummy makes me feel like i have a sandwich! i'll also have an apple but have found i still can't eat the skin. sometimes a handfull of those little fishy pretzels. thats lunch. lasts me til about 3 then i'll have a fruit or cheeze stick til dinner. work is crazy right now so i'm not eating til very late at night sometimes too tired to eat so i'll have a protein bar and maybe some penut butter crackers.
the thing that i miss is when i go to the movies with a friend who gets to eat popcorn - my pounch doens't like popcorn which is a riot cause thats what i use to eat all the time! i miss not being able to have a movie snack even if i've eaten and am not hungry so i have a package of sugar free twizzlers. 6 are a serviing. i wrap it in a baggie throw the rest away casue i'm gonna eat them all if i'm not careful stuff them in my pocketbook and i've got my movie treat!
