Kat posting for Rob
Hi everyone,
This is Kat, Rob's girlfriend. I haven't posted for a while because there hasn't been much change. Temp goes up and down but Rob has held in there. I went to see him yesterday and he looked better to me than a week ago. His kidney function is improving so he has lost a little fluid and his face didn't look so puffy. We are told the improvement in kidney function is a very good sign and other improvements should follow.
As you can imagine, this has been very difficult to have him in ICU for so long, heavily medicated and on a ventilator where we can't communicate with him. I have talked with a counselor and that helped because this is just too big to handle all by myself.
I swear Rob is the poster child of prayer chains because everybody I talk to says they are praying for him and they have told others who have told others.....he must be on every prayer chain by now! This shows how we are all connected in this big old world.
My feeling all along is that Rob will make it through this. It sure is taking a long time, though, isn't it?
Thank you all so very much for you support. I have felt it even though I have been quiet lately.
I was reading another post about no calls to ICU. I don't even call them any more. We have worked it out where his mom is the "point man" so the doctors and nurses only have to give the report once to her, and then she calls me and others, and we pass it on. I hope nobody took that the wrong way. We want the staff to spend their time taking care of Rob - not talking on the phone!
My email is [email protected] if anyone wants to contact me directly.
Question: How long are the messages saved on the board? Should I start printing them out for Rob? Thanks.
Love,
Kat

Hi Kat,
Thank you so much for the update on Rob, we all get a little nervous when we don't hear anything.
I am continuing to pray for Rob and everyone caring for him, for his whole family and for you Kat, I can only imagine the toll it is taking on everyone. But thank God the kidneys are looking better, it will just be a matter of a little more time and his whole body will be performing as it should.
The posts go way back, it's just a matter of going back and digging through them until you find what you want.
Many prayers are going up for Rob and all concerned.
Take Care Kat and God Bless,
Betty
Kat -
Thank you SO much for updating us. I know you all have a lot on your plate lately and the fact that you find the time to come give us updates is beyond words. I just appreciate it so much.
As far as I'm aware these posts are kept indefinitely but they may be hard to research back completely, so I would recommend printing them off as soon as you feel up to it. I have a feeling he won't feel up to going through it all later.
Kat, I can only imagine what you are going through - as well as the rest of his family. This is a rough time for you all, but it sounds like just time will make it all okay. I know we're all strangers here for the most part, but if you ever need to talk, just email me and I'll be happy to lend an ear.
Dina
Bless your heart Kat. You are being so much stronger that I could ever have been if I were in your Shoes. Rob has found a hidden gem in you.
I hope that we aren't putting too much pressure on you and Rob's family. It must be hard enough to keep the extended family updated on every little thing let alone a board full of people whom you and his family have never met. We are all so concerned about all the people involved in his recovery especially Rob.
It is great news to hear about the improvement in his Kidney function, that is just the first cog in the wheel that will get Rob back on track to full recovery.
God bless. Rob, you and the rest of his family are all in my prayers.
Thank you,
Leslie

Kat thank you for keeping us updated on Rob's recovery, I will continue to keep him and you and his family in my prayers. It is soooo hard on those that love someone to see them sick and this has to be a very hard time for all of you. He is so lucky to have you in his life, and again thank you for keeping us updated.
