Serves Me Right

I was feeling pretty ****y about not hurling and being able to keep everything down pretty well. Tonight I sat down to some Hormel pork roast and it tasted pretty darn good. However, I was not eating mindfully, not chewing well and not taking small bites. I don't think I got more than 3 or 4 bites down before it came back up...... through my nose. Holy cow was that painful. The good news is that 2 months ago, I would have wet my pants from the force of puking. I'm dry, dry, dry. Perhaps that was too much information. Naw.... Connie

Now see, I wouldnt mind having that kind of "violent" hacking. I have been too tolerant of everything. Havent lost a pound in 11 days actually gained 2 I am ready now to loose loose loose! I have been lucky, If I eat too much it usually comes right up with just a little effort and its not like puking its more like just spitting it back up. OR I will just get real nauseous I can tolerate sugar very well I have found. I took like 4-5 sips of my sons milk shake (hoping to "clean" myself out, think im a little bound up) normally that would do it with me being a bit lactose intolerant...but nothing happened!!! So I gotta stay away from that! lol. I was a little upset about that! Well you take it easy and chew chew. lol Best wishes!! Elizabeth M -44 and more to come!

Hey, Elizabeth! 44 pounds is nothing to sneeze at. I've had long plateaus also and then it's like someone opens the gates and pounds start falling. I'm with you, I think I can tolerate almost anything as long as I chew it well enough. Connie

Oh Connie - I am so sorry you had to have that painful experience (That HAS to be painful ewww). I know for me, I just had my first huck this last week too. But I guess the bright side is the dry britches. Dina BTW: I know you probably don't want to know this, but I'll tell ya anyway. When I see your name it makes me think of when I was on one of my Atkins boards a long time ago. They had nicknames for everything from TOM (for your Time of Month) to Whooshie (for a sudden drop in weight) to Connie (for constipation). Sorry - I just had to share since I knew you had a good sense of humor!

Dina, Those Atkinites have got nothing on the kids in grade school. My given name is Constance so you can imagine. Constantly Constipated. Constancely a Pain in the Ass. I think I beat the crap out of Fart Face Frank for the last one. LOL Connie

I've done the same thing... It always happens when I'm distracted when I eat... I revert to previous bad habit of swallowing my food whole. I never realized how little I chewed my food before. Learning to chew my food has been the hardest part for me.. My first hurl was a pork roast, then chicken and yesterday it was some shrimp. I hate it when it's happening, I get these waves of intense pain that tell me I screwed up and didn't chew enough. I'll usually give it 2 to 3 waves to see if it will go through.. After the 4th wave I go 'give it up', because I know I'll feel much better afterwards. Ugh.

Linda, Try passing it through your nose and you'll know exactly how well you do or don't chew your food. LOL My sister had her colon removed in December and had a colostomy bad for about 10 weeks before they reconnected all her plumbing. I can't tell you how many times we'd finish dinner and she'd lift her shirt to look at the bag ans say, "You just think you're chewing your food well." Yuk Connie
