Frothing to the point of frustration

I Have been nauseated and vomiting for almost 2 weeks. Got so dehydrated I went to the ER for some IV fluids. The surgeon doesn't think it has anything to do with the surgery. His comment was I was overeating. Ha I am puking liquids up even water. I have no desire to eat.I'm not hungry. I constant spit up white frothy mucus. Ya I have a spit cup where ever I go. During weeks 4 and 5 I was tolerating most of my water,my protein shakes, and soft veggies like potato and asparagas. What the H.... happens????? I think there is a strong possibility that I have developed a stricture. I am going to request that this be ruled out. It's so depressing to be told your over eating when it takes 3 hrs to drink a protein shake. If this is a phase someone please tell me. Thanks Shelly

Shelly - Stricture was what was spinning around in my head as well, but it could be anything. Be demanding with your doc. If you aren't able to get anything down there is a problem. You shouldn't have to go to the ER to get hydrated! Dina

I think I would be giving the surgeon the 'what-for'. And if that doesn't work, get a second opinion -- quick! You're in my prayers, Shelly. Hugs, Marcie -24

Be sure to log what you eat and make the doc look at the log. Make them take you seriously! Joy

I cant believe that doctor brushed you off like that! Yes I agree ... be very demanding! You look out for you no matter what he says. He needs to act more responsibly! Make sure you get it checked out. I wish you the Best! Elizabeth M -44 and more to come!

I need to post one other thing about this - not to scare, but just to show the importance of being forceful with your doctor.... On another group I'm on one of the members posted about a friend of theirs who just died. She was a couple months out and was having a stricture problem that the doctor was ignoring. She finally had to go to in for dehydration and was admitted to the hospital. She had lost 70 lbs in 1 month because of all this. She ended up in the hospital for quite some time and it looked like things were going well but then when she got up to go to the bathroom w/the help of a nurse, she had a pulmonary embolism. She had been in the hospital so long she developed a clot. And not only that but they didn't even put compression boots or stockings on her. I just wanted to say this because if this gal had been pushy with her doctor from the get-go she would never have been hospitalized. And if she had been pushy about the hospital, they would have booted her. Sometimes it pays to be a beeyotch. Dina
