Prayer Request- Iron Infusion

I had RNY surgery March 2. After I had acute pancreatitis and a month hosp stay. Recovery has left me exhausted. I do a bit better each week however walking across the room is still exhausting. I never regained my energy. I feel lightheaded each time I get out of my chair and I move very slowly.Needless to say exercise has not been an option. I don't know how much of this exhaustion is from the pancreatitis recovery (with dehydration and normal WLS recovery). Or how much is my anemia. My iron levels were super low before the surgery. Tomorrow, I go to the hematologist for an iron infusion. It will take about 5 hours. I have looked forward to this for a month. If this doesn't work I know I'm going to be devastated. I have all my eggs in this iron infusion basket. I was told iron injections given for severe iron deficiency and increase blood iron levels immediately however it can take several months for body iron stores to return to normal. If this works I will be one happy lady. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS: The most serious side effect from iron injection is anaphylaxis, a severe immediate allergic reaction that can result in death. Other side effects include extremely low blood pressure, flushing, headache, muscle and joint pain, dizziness, nausea, rashes, pain and inflammation at the injection site, fever and chills. PLEASE PRAY FOR ME! 8:45 est am. Its been EXTREMELY irritating not to be able to clean my house or put on make up in a chair, cook dinner from a chair, etc. Thanks, Robin 247/205/130

Robin - how frustrating that has to be for you. I think I got a little anemic (feeling at least) this last week and I don't envy you that feeling for so long. I do hope this infusion helps.....I have a feeling it will. Let us know how you feel after you get this done! Dina

Robin, I suffer from severe anemia and know how you feel. The mind wants to get up and go but the body is just to tired!! Hang in there...you will start feeling better after your procedure tomorrow. I'll be praying for you!! Sierra

Robin I will be praying for you as I already have, And I know God can heal you completley. HE has brought you this far and he will care for you the rest of the way. Tonight when you go to bed imagine yourself resting in his arms and again tomrrow when you get that iron shot just rest in his arms. He will take care of you. He loves you. Sarah T
