First Consultation Scheduled

Well I guess I'm on my journey. I have a scheduled consultation with Dr. Michael Malik in Cary, NC on September 9. His waiting list is really long. I told the nurse that I didn't pick up this weight overnight so I didn't mond the wait. I am so excited, yet nervous and actually scared to death. I am going to attend some of the Support groups that they have the second Tueday of each month. My one big hang-up though that I'm getting married next September 17, 2005. I just want to be sure that this surgery and all that it involves does not conflict with wedding plans. The nurse told me that after my consultation it would probably take me about 2 to 3 months before I have my surgery. Keep me in your prayers as I will do the same for you.

Congrats! The road may be long but for me it was worth the wait.... or is that WEIGHT? Just a note, the people on ths particular board all had (or most with postponements) surgery in March of 2004. You might want to try a state board or the general board. The people on those boards might have more to offer you however we are always supportive here and welcome you. Go Girl! You can post where ever you like - Shout it to the world!! I had my first appt made in August to see the dr in Oct.. My surgery first was set to be on April 7th then moved up to March 10th so you never know - just be persistance and make sure that you have good insurance .
