How big is my pouch?

I had my 1month post op on 4/22/04. As of today I'm down 37lbs. At times I think I eat too much. There are some who had surgery after me and has lost much much more. The Dr says that my pouch is 2mL. But what is that really. Most refer to their pouch being 10 or 30 cc. Does anyone know?

Hmmm - that sounds odd. I'm showing on conversion charts that 2 ml is only 0.06 of an ounce. That is 6/100ths of an ounce. I have a hard time wrapping my brain around that. It shows cc's are equivalent to ml, so 15 cc's is roughly 1/2 oz and 30 would be 1 oz. Have you tried the cottage cheese test to see how large your pouch is? I know my pouch is right around 4 oz.....much larger than many here. BTW - your weight loss progress is great! Dina

I think you may have it backwards.. 1cc or 1ml = 30 oz the numbers you have are right, just in the wrong order : ) Hope that helps!

ROFL - that's okay Kim. I think it's really easy to get jumbled up on these numbers. I wish they would use English units only! Dina
